Patch 1.4.2 Please Clarify

Blizzard, please clarify what this means:

  • Adjusted the damage of boss powers and boss affixes to be more in-line with the difficulty of the dungeon leading up to the fight.

More specifically, what does this mean regarding the boss damage and the shadow boss damage. What are boss affixes? Are those the shadow bosses? Please translate for us humans to understand how this makes the boss and or shadow boss easier or more difficult especially for us hardcore players who don’t like taking uncalculated risks based on vague wording.

Pit trash mobs are much easier than the bosses, so when they say “more in-line with the difficulty of the dungeon leading up to the fight” I think it’s obvious bosses will be made easier.

I haven’t seen a single person say that bosses should be harder, so I doubt that’s what they’re going to do.

As far as affixes, my assumption is those are the shadow bosses, as they seem to be randomized to some extent, and shadow boss damage has been a common complaint.

Yes, I assumed that as well, but rather than make assumptions, I’d prefer blizzard to spell it out directly and get in the habit of using better wording. It’s no fun guessing what changes have been made to game mechanics that may or may not still one shot your character, especially in hardcore.

I usually farm pit 70-76 for materials but this morning I ran 66’s because I had time for about 4 runs and needed 100 materials for my next upgrade. It was a cakewalk until my next to the last run when I ran into a boss that was way, Way, WAY overpowered.

I’m hoping this means a higher level of consistency for the difficulty of pit bosses. A level 66 pit boss should not be more powerful than your average level 76 pit boss…
