Maybe I missed it, but is there another way to teleport to your party members instead of just going to the main act town? You should be able to right click their portrait and select an option to teleport to player, kinda like in Diablo 3. This will make gathering for world events and if you come across a goblin much more faster for you and your party.
why do you need another way it doesn’t even cost a scroll any more
If you go back to Kyvoshad there is a portal there always open at the waypoint for every party member. Walking through it takes you directly to them.
I have not messed with this system yet. So you are saying you have to go to town in order to TP to a player, and you would prefer a direct TP to player from wherever you are?
In D3 you could right click on their portrait and teleport to them. Not sure why they would take this away for D4.
It’s a pointless detour and a waste of time. Why not right-click & teleport to player like in D3?
It’s called QoL, it’s about efficiency.
It’s also just not in the game. The only way is through Kyvoshad.
100% agree. Simplicity is all i’m asking
It SHOULD be in the game. That’s the whole point of this thread.
Even Immortal has it…I think. No wait it doesn’t, it only has “navigate to party leader” or something and sets a path for you to follow. Also lame. Especially when you’re inside Hidden Lairs and you’re supposed to wait for that displaced party member to arrive so you can go through the portal to 2nd floor.
Maybe it gets implemented upon launch. I’m sure the mechanics to add the QoL is not that hard. It’s just if any of the blizz reps are listening. This isn’t some off the wall QoL request either.
It’s not. It’s a crucial party feature that lots of players rely on for max efficiency in D3. And tons of D3 players are gonna be playing D4. It’s practically tattooed on the forehead of an at-least-frequent D3 player.
Think of goblin shrines or Superuniques that drop transmogs or the dreaded Cosmic Wings. They can be killed in an instant even if just one of 4 party players is over-geared.
Five seconds.
Ten, if your computer is a potato.
Please as a gamer get away from the “In this game” mentality. Understand from a creators point of view your goal is to create a game that has unique features to the game you create. put simply just because WoW has a winning formula on how to keep people playing WoW does not mean the NEXT MMORPG should copy WoW. I know that may have been a reach but put simply, d1-d2-d3-d4 should all have unique features exclusive to them that make the game enjoyable and memorable for those that played it.
I loved the flag system in d1 and d2, where I could just go hunt some people down especially in hardcore ear hunting to just ruin someones hard work and feel my heart pumping a mile a minute when it looked like maybe I would lose instead. That being said d3 got rid of it all together so D4 understood, Well we dont want to bring the same system many people may not like it but we do want to appeal to those who enjoyed PVP from our games lets put a PVP AREA with different types of loot.
This was my rant…sorry.
Point: the game has a new system of going back to town to then go port to the player, you will get use to it.
I will get used to having an extra loading screen because Blizzard wants me to see those using 15EUR wings cosmetic on the main town waypoint…yea…
(All this while having to mouse over 2-3 other portals to know which portal goes to the party member I want to get to. Plot twist…they will sell portal cosmetics like some guy suggested in some thread somewhere.)
Yeah, I see your point. We just have to remember its not our game. We just participate in it. Its not that big a deal I actually only played d3 solo and many may not have played it at all. So it is not a feature we will miss.
Easily solved.
On the one hand? Only ever display the portals for you and your party members. Now you have, at most, FOUR to check.
On the other hand? Color-code them. The default blue for your own, a darker blue for your party members, and green for the Party Leader.
Do both of those, and voila: problem solved.
It would be nice if it allowed you to do a direct teleport.
It’s not the end of the world that you have to go through an extra loading screen but it is slightly unintuitive because the portal only appears in main towns, so even if you are in a town you still have to teleport to a big town to then teleport to a friend.
I’m a fan of anything that will save me from having to see an additional loading screen
I would definitely see it as an improvement if, when activating a Waystone anywhere, you also got your party members’ locations as options of where to go to.
So put it in the game then
It is. Its called a scroll of summoning.
Another thread complaining after experiencing a very small sample of the game, about a non issue in release.
It was in the closed beta. You can summon your entire party to you, no matter their location.
