Party leader world interactions

If grouping is going to be the main part of the game, there needs to be a better party system

I was in a horde, finished the run. Party leader instantly leaves and it ported the other 3 of us out and reset the horde, and we couldn’t use our aether.

I usually don’t group but I try it out sometimes, awful experience.
-Lag was insane (60+ second spikes), playing an andy rogue i just counted to 7 and popped the totem and shot where I placed it. Entire waves finished without me ever seeing mobs spawn
-Losing all progress because of the party leader is a massive oversight, how has that not been addressed?

Make a representative list of “oversights” and it almost answers itself. Not enough hours in the day. Chiefly, the game released too early, so a lot of the jank in systems which might’ve been fixed under more… proficient management practices… didn’t bc no time, always playing catch-up, always addressing new combinations of problems & “bugs”, many of them re-emerging after hiatus.

Chill with the insults when someone is making a valid point.

The Party and Sharding system has always been bad, was designed poorly to begin with and has caused issues since launch.

Because Party Leader Exits a Horde and the 3 other Players get kicked - this should NEVER be a thing.
One is not “Entitled” for calling atrocious Multiplayer design out for what it is: BAD.
Nor, as someone said, “Only play with friends” a SOLUTION.

I was in a similar situation - BUT WITH FRIENDS.
I’m about to log off and asked if they wanted some Uber runs before I do - I’m on an alt so I needed a carry.
We did a quick ROTA as they also threw in 2 runs.
I pop 3 they pop 2 - they’re on endgame and only want 1. upgraded uniques, GAs and Mythics.
I’m looking for GEAR - Ubers drop mass Aspects I’ll need and I also need STUFF(all things).

To not hold them up I just stashed items to the side - figuring I’ll get to it after, quickly salvage before bed and they go off to do Hordes or w/e.

Long story short - THERE’S NO WAY TO LEAVE PARTY and maintain Instance! ie. Items will VANISH, Dungeon Reset.
No matter what - I’m holding them up.

I realized what I had to do…
Leader passes lead to Me.
They both Leave Party.
I decline to go back to my World State.

That’s the most convoluted bs nonsense design I couldn’t imagine someone coming up with to maintain a freaking dungeon and its “Persistence”…

Yea but calling that out and the OP calling out Horde closing and all resetting after LEader Exits is “Entitled”, we’re all spoiled, stupid, babies etc.

Wicked bad design. Idk how it made it out of PRE-Alpha QA or wasnt thrown into the :wastebasket: the moment it hit managements desk.

Pub groups should be perfectly fine to use, if Blizzard is unable to support grouping they should not try to push grouping to be the main part of the game.

Besides, how many people who started D4 with you last year still log on?
20+ online at launch?
0 now?
