I have a question, is this being looked into, on the extreme amounts of exp it takes to get levels past 200? Each level gets far worse. It becomes a super grind to get the last 50 levels. The extreme level grinding is what lost blizzard millions of people. It was the number one thing. I dont understand putting it back in and making it even worse than it was before. This is one of the main reasons, that no one plays. There are good aspects of the game, but this is one, i’ll never understand from blizzard, and they know it is the reason they have lost so many people from the game. Im really hoping the the exp past 200 gets nerfed drastically. Them levels are really needed to work on either more dps, or more tankiness to survive the game. Keeping it to only a select few that can sit and live on this game, is not a good business model. The fun of this game comes from farming gear, and getting better gear. Not grinding levels.
I don’t think they’ll nerf it. They said it’s intentional, gives people something to keep working towards. After about 220 it’s only a small boost to your total power anyway.
I forsee them losing even more clientele. They will eventually kill this game. So very few play it now. The leveling aspect of paragons should not be that insane. After 220, its a hard decision on what you want to do, either get tanky enough, or put more power in. It doesn’t give the intention it wants for people, only a super frustrated audience that is getting more impatient with their bad decisions.
Any paragon points past 200ish are totally optional. You can clear T4. The extra 100 levels and especially the last 50 are just for people who want something to do… because that was all they could come up with for “end game”.
If you don’t like grinding paragon to 300, then don’t. It’s for people who don’t want to play something else when they’ve finished their build.
paragon is fine. 250 is absolutely achievable by casual players. Now getting to 300 is of course a big task, but as Hex said, its pretty optional.
Every build is finalized once you hit like 220ish-
im not grinding to paragon 300 myself, as i dont see the need for that. Others want to get the mount and barding as early as possible.
I’m at 294. It’s 820,000,000 xp (roughly) to the next level. The grind is doable, just not a lot of fun with so few choices. D2 was similar, Bael till the end.
Stack your Xp, there is a Xp well in NMD it lasts for a hour, sometimes it bugs or intended who knows, and it won’t let you use a opal other times it has stacked for me, so you have elixir, opal and xpwell, and kill a Realm walker on for me it was T3-T2 i forget its around 190k takes under 2 minutes to kill it, i do things like this and other chunk Xp hunts, and general mob clearing stuff, bosses etc,
200-250 is no problem, and after 220, i care less about it’s speed tbh and work on other stuff.
The above strat also levels toons pretty quickly to 60. haven’t math-ed it to the meta so idk, but it doesn’t feel too slow and i am busy playing anyway. hope it helps if not cool bananas
They said they wanted you to get to P300 in eternal over the next several seasons…several, as in, longer than you’ll probably be playing D4.
I just want to do something while coming down and listening to a podcast, mate.
You really don’t need to go past 240. The last bunch is really.just for the grinders that want a challenge. I stopped at 264 which isn’t even half way to 300 and had everything I needed on my board plus some useless stuff.
Yeah, the game is way too easy and not challenging at all and highly unbalanced. People are leaving, that’s for sure.
They put this in as a way to keep people playing when there is very little content to do. That worked for the first season because it was new and people wanted some bragging rights. I doubt many people will ever do it again.
If next season isn’t a huge hit, and I don’t think it will be, I think they will see even faster drop-off than S6.
Unless you are playing eternal, it resets every season.
I’m sitting at para 235 right now and don’t find it too terrible using all 3 buffs at all times. I’ve heard 270 is where the real grind comes in.
But TBH I’m usually pretty excited every time I get a point now, it is one of the few good things about the game. Loot basically doesn’t exist for me, no matter how many tormented uberboss mats I farm it is never enough to even get 1 upgrade. Helltide RARELY drop ancestral, there’s never anything good from 10wave keys, I’ve run more undercity than I can count… I only run T4 and have for ages with nothing to show for it it feels.
Yeah. Paragon is the only thing I have to look forward to. Don’t take away the only grind with a real reward xD
Just so you know, 286 paragon is the halfway point. It takes a total of 25 billion xp to hit 300 paragon.
Wait is that true? That’s kind of insane to me. Although for some reason it is bringing back D2 vibes and attempting to get to level 99. That exp grind was one of the worst things, definitely was not required though.
It’s a pointless grind, which means it is not a good design. Players should have an incentive to grind instead of just having nothing else to do.
It is true. I am at 297 which is 84.73% done. To reach 300 from this point I need to do another 350ish pit runs.
Yes, I would have thought you already knew this lol. Its been on the forums forever and I personally even posted the graph several times.
I tend not to pay attention to the details, I won’t lie. Not when it comes to exp for paragon mind you lol. It’s just one grind I knew wouldn’t be doing in any season, so I may have seen the graph, I just didn’t pay much attention sorry.
