Paragon board rework

What if we revamp the paragon board system.

Scrap everything where we dont waste a lot of time selecting paths and teyin to min max… etc .

Lets simplify and streameline the heck out of it…
(Lets say if all the paragon node selections stay the same)

We have drop down boxes to choose our nodes.
Since we only have 5 boards thus we only have 5 slots to choose our main legendary node powers

Then under legendary power node slots there are 10 drop down boxes for rare nodes to choose…

And under the rare node boxes there are 20 magic nodes selections to choose…

So basically we just select what we want doe our build as long as we have the required amount of paragon points (PP)…

Paragon point (pp) tequirements:
Legendary - 20 PP each
Rare nodes- (5 PP)
Magic - ( 2 PP each)

For normal nodes maybe just have a selection where we can put 1 PP into for each of the str, int, dex, etc…

I would suggest that we should be able to choose more legendary and rare nodes etd as long as we have the PP points… We ahouldnt be limited…

Also you can add a lot more or revamp the selection of nodes and make all sprts of cool legendsry nodes now.

Its streamlined… easy to use and understand… And will save a massive amount of time in menues ro let us play the game…
Also build craft better…

This is also where you can implement my other suggestion posts about other systems to improve build crafring… auch as the power gems system or skill fusion sustems… etc…

Paragon is already simple enough. They just need to remove the board limits again.

Yes, its simple. I agree.

What Im refering to by simplify it…is by making it way more efficient.
This way you can easily flip between all the paragon node powers and try new things on the fly.

Yes you can reset everything…
Yes you can backtrack some…
It just takes too long to really min max every point when reseting…
deciding which board that has the nodes you want…
which way to swap around board so its most efficient…
etc…

If it was all drop down then it can be maximized efficiency in just a few min.

Also swap between them and explore while youre playin around with new build elements, etc.

Thankfully next season they at least have the armory… However still woll take time to go through and set up all your builds and save them before being able to swap them around …

Then theres still the same issue as before when you need to change around elements of your build as you unlock them or just want to change…

paragon can still be way more efficient. My suggested system would have been easier to create than the armory, simplify code (possible bugs), make it more streameline and efficient, save time out of menus, allow players to experiment easier and more often, play more during their time, and have more creativity and fun.

Some people out there dont have much time to play and would love to not be stuck in menus customizing etc.

Also, by streamelining this into a simplified menue, it allows for an easy way to introduce other systems as well.
(Like my 2 other posts about better systems)

Why not make just 10 or 15 squares, and you pick what you want, and increase what you want?

Yes simplify the unnecessary paragon board layouts…

You still have the exact same paragon node selections… Without having to waste time choosing paths…

Simply just choose the powers in the 15ish squares ya need and done…


I guess you would rather instead waste time choosing 300 little squares just to get the 15 major squares… O_o…

This way you simply the things that dont matter so they can expand… adding better more in depth systems…that will actually matter and make a difference to build quality… Not just boringly choosing 300 small squares pathing your way through a spiderweb of squares…

This is where complexity needs to go… into systems that have meaningful choices to create custom crazy builds to explore and have fun with.

People need to broaden their mind. You maked things more efficient by cutting out the unnecessary so you can improve and build upon making systems better.

I agree with this to an extend. The paragon system is lacking something interesting. It is not regularely expanded with new boards, which makes me think that the devs are not happy with it either. Who would care if it was replaced?

My problems with it are:

  1. Choosing different paths through the paragon boards makes hardly any difference. Sometimes I can save a point or two, but in the end its neither benefiting or satisfying to think about the board connections, glyph ranges or paths.
    It may help to add more attachement gates per board or to rethink borders entirely.

  2. There is a lack of interesting nodes. The legendary nodes are often the only reason for a player to choose a specific board. Everything else, especially nodes in glyph range, is streamlined to boredom.
    It may help to rethink the glyph range system and increase the density of rare nodes.

  3. Glyphs are very replacable with all the Damage affixes (“Damage on Tuesdays”).

  4. The amount of clicking required is enormous and the UI is still not able to reset individual boards. A feature every single fansite has integrated into their paragon builder.

All in all, the Paragon board system needs more care, choices and fun.

Yes, agreed.

Its why i was sayin to scrap the boards and let us just choose what we want if we have the points

I may want a node from another board but cant choose it since i need the other legendaries on other boards … and because we only have 5 boards…

Also like you said dmg multipliers are kinda boring… I did note that in another post about fixing aspects for build creativity… either make all the dmg multipliers the same or scrap them… this way we arent forced to choose just the best dmg x… and would help with balancing dmg bugs etc…

Also as you said they are boeing… So they can put a lot of the aspects in there to give better variety since we have limited gear slots… So we can make more creative builds rather than just dmgx… cause youre right… its boring…

Glyphs need to just be removed from the boards and have their own system. Yah its a major change but its evident its not working. They had to limit crappy boards because ppl were avoiding using the boards as much as possible and skipping everything and just stacking 8 glyphs. Its too hard to balance glyphs from within boards.

So remove glyphs from boards and redo them.

Remove the limit on board and make boards key passives great. The mage enchantment board one should be +1 enchant slot not 20% or whatever it is that nobdy has got ever. Stuff like that. Really meaningful and fun.

Yeah using aspects rather than glyphs would be interesting.
Some glyphs can still be aspects just remove dmg x…

Yeah ive mentioned about dmg x either being same on everything or scrap them all so they can balance dmg issues better, and so we can actualu choose aspects etc to customize our builds rather than mindlessly select dmg x…

Ive also got a couple posts about reworks for systems like this as well… and ways to substantially increase build customization and quality… That are simpler to implement and streamlined to use to cit down menu time and get some actual game time…
