The title says it all and hopefully Blizzard takes notice of this but seriously why is paragon not account wide? I am a dad who works full time. Currently level 83 Sorcerer and that is with me playing more than I probably should have been playing this last month.
What harm is there in making it so if I level a Druid to 50 I suddenly become level 83 on my Druid as well. Now I have a paragon board to setup, gear to farm, glyphs, etc. Play the Druid until maybe 90, then I can go back to Sorcerer or maybe I make a Necromancer and play him up to 100.
There is no way I am leveling another character to 100, might not even make it to 100 on this character because it is getting kind of boring. Sticking around to see what the season holds but seriously Blizzard, make paragon account wide.
Imagine if Diablo 3 Paragon was character only. I am amazed this was the direction you took. Please make it account wide. Bump this post if you agree, make the people in blue take notice.
So, you want to eliminate half of the leveling process? I get not having a lot of time, but this will never happen. You’re suggesting turning a 150+ hour game into a 30 hour game.
What is it with this obsession to get to 100?
If you dont want to grind your characters to 100 just don’t do it…man…
It’s not D3. The endgame doesnt start at max level.
This game takes way more time to get to 100 than 30 hours. Once you hit 100 leveling is only half the battle if that. Then it is glyphs, gear, and trying out new builds. Isn’t that what Diablo is all about?
The fascination with level 100 is you have access to all of your paragon points at that time. There is a big difference between level 83 and 100. That is at least 1 if not 2 more glyphs and filled out paragon boards to go with it.
Regardless of what blizzard does this game will really die out on the eternal realm, the seasons are what will make or break this game. Why not allow somebody to level to 100 over multiple characters during those 3 months? Does that seriously not sound more fun than just grinding 1 character?
respeccing at level 100 is almost an impossibility even if ignoring the gold cost of respeccing your tree + paragon board.
at level 100 you spent the last 5 levels losing power, but optimizing your gear, you cant just respec because the game scales with you making it impossible for you to go and kill mobs and find items to improve your new spec. the mobs are scaled to level 95, and you are essentially naked.
respeccing means you have to find gear for the new spec before respeccing. making the time sink required huge.
I was actually very disappointed when I leveled my druid alt and found out that both the paragon was still locked on alts until 50 and that I would need to level paragon on each character. Having come from diablo 3 where paragon was account bound felt so much better for alts. I still pushed high level rifts on alts despite not having to relevel paragon, so I’m not sure where that mindset is coming from with some of the people here.
I don’t expect the paragon to change, unfortunately, but at the very least I feel that gear shouldn’t be locked to the level that you get it and should instead have a level requirement for the minimum level to enter the difficulty where it was dropped, that way if I leveled a second druid alt (which I would love to do), I would be able to use the gear that I’ve banked at 50 or 70 instead of level 90 or whatever.
This is an easy fix, get rid of the gold cost to respec. Or lower it drastically. Again it seems Blizzard is trying to prevent us from experiencing different builds or classes.
even removing the gold cost completely (which the devs specifically said they want people to level a new character not respec an existing one) would not solve the massive time invested in a level 100 respec.
you need to first find equivalent gear to what you already spent weeks getting for your existing build. because the world scales up with level, so you cant go back and kill easier mobs. you are stuck with level 95 mobs and 105 elites. its not doable without great items, which you dont have unless you farm them, which will take weeks.
I guess with my sorc I have been picking up items I know will be good for other builds. That said my stashes are basically full so 4 other classes sharing would be a mess. More stash space!
This game is great at its core it just seems like there are a lot of easy fixes out there to make it better. As it stands right now I will be leveling this character to 100 slowly when I can. When the season starts I will probably play a Druid to maybe 100. It would just be nice to be able to play a couple different classes and have them all contribute to getting towards level 100.
One thing I want to point out as well is many of us don’t care about having 100% optimized gear. It takes a few days to get gear that is 80% great. That last 20% takes weeks if not months. I just want to have fun killing demons. Sounds more fun doing it with different classes or builds versus just the same old same old each day.
100%. I recently respecced my druid from my variation of earth/pulverize a build to my variation of a storm/werewolf build at lvl 85. Prior to respeccing I could solo nightmare 45 and after I’m having a hard time soloing nightmare dungeons that have enemies 2 levels higher than me.
Prior to respeccing I had about 20 million gold, after I think I had 500k? I’m level 90 now and have been picking up practically every yellow and vendoring them, but I’m only at 11 mil. Even if I wanted to swap back to being a bear I think the cost would go up from what I spent in the first place since I’m higher level.
I understand that they want our choices to be meaningful on our characters, but if the game is also alt-unfriendly, then it just creates an unnecessary barrier. I would personally love to make a bunch of alts, but after getting my sorc to 70 and with my druid nearing 100, I really don’t feel like doing it again with another character.
I can understand people’s appraoch to wanting to 100% the game in 30 hours and never touch it again unless the needs comes must. Just consider that some of us want to put 1000 hours into the game pass the 100% mark.
This logic makes no sense though. First it takes 100+ hours to get to level 100, not 30. Then you still have to level each alt to 50 at which point the alt becomes whatever your account wide paragon level is. Then you still have the option of putting in as many hours as you want farming gear, glyphs, etc.
This doesn’t hurt elite players it just gives more options. If anything an elite player could make 5 of the same class, have them all at 100, and not have to worry about respeccing. Have a fire mage, ice mage, lightning mage, etc.
The other option is to give us GM commands. That way we can have everything we want. Don’t forget. Blizzards wants people to waste time in their game. Not spend money buying it and never play.
I was thinking about letting the players clone a character once they hit 100. Say you hit 100 on a druid, you could get another 100 druid, with no gear and no skills filled out, to try another build if you have character space. Once you settle on a build that you like, is viable, and want to switch to that for the season, you can choose the clone over the main and keep it. This would allow you to experiment without changing the whole original build if it doesn’t work out. Be like a target dummy for builds. Would also give people something to do with all those alternate pieces of gear they’re hoarding.
