Edit: more specifically in game, I have one of every available class, the item doesn’t say which class can use it, but I have tried with all of them and the item isn’t available for use for any current class.

there´s been speculation about Valkyrie for the holy warrior roll which is the alternative i´d like the most personally.
A light based class is noticeably absent. I would not be surprised if we got the Paladin or possibly something entirely new, I’d like something new anyways.
Maybe they’ll make one of the Knights from the story the new class, forgot the name of them with that big hulking armor
Paladins were my second favorite class behind barbarian in the second game, I want fist of heavens back and sadly that wasn’t an option for crusader.
As far as Valkeries aside from the fact that they are other worldly spirits in lore not people, I thought the entire reason they weren’t bringing back Amazon.
Was because they are all female, something they weren’t going to do anymore because they want people to be able to choose their sex regardless of class.
Valkeries are also exclusively female, so I can’t see it happening especially because diablo is based off of abrahamic holy theology with minor differential changes.
Where as valkeries are norse lore and have nothing to do with abrahamic faiths or the occult, but I am just some guy, so who knows.
I personally want the old school Zakarum Paladin, from the second game.
Be hard lore wise though as the temple was corrupted and they either disbanded and formed new groups (crusader) or were killed.

Paladins have been an iconic part of Diablo since D2 just like Barbarians and Amazons, a plate wearing Sword and Shield user was the original Warrior archetype that defeated Diablo in the first game. We don’t have one of those either.
Count on Paladins being the first class announced whenever the eventual expansion/dlc pack comes for this game. Who the other one will be is a lot more open to debate.
Amazons is not iconic. Rogues have the ranged dex class slot.
Amazons/Rogues, Paladins/Crusaders, Tomatoes.
It’s the aesthetic and the playstyle that is important not so much the name. A holy knight using shield based skills and heavy plate armor. That’s what we’re missing.

not briging in the paladin in an arpg sounds like a silly idea.
I hope the paladin/crusader makes a return because it only makes sense given the story. An unpopular opinion I have is after watching the necromancer cinematic I feel like they are on the wrong side but at the same time I can’t wait to raise the dead and send my army in to crush things.
I am hoping palidens and amazons make a comeback.
I think they have something set up for that class. Something that relates to the story of the game. I’m not even sure they’ll be Paladins, Crusaders or one of those new Church of Inarius enforcers, but the class is gonna come with an additional story. Personally I kind of wish we’d get the Crusader back, giant man with a shield as big as a door and a spinning flail … and voiced by Gideon Emery. Nothing beats that.
Whose side is that exactly? If playing Diablo and following the lore has taught us anything it’s that there is no clear side to take. The Demons want to enslave humanity and the Angels would rather just obliterate all of us because we’re tainted.
There’s no clear good side and bad side, there’s simply the balance, and Necromancers represent that balance as much as anyone.
I’m hoping they add all the classes missing from the other Diablo games in future patches/expansions. We are missing a shield item and class so Paladin and Crusader would fit.
Necros can use shields. Just saying.
I don’t have access to them at the moment and haven’t seen any shield drops so I’ll take your word for it till proven otherwise.
Once Paladins are added who else are we missing though? By my count all that’s left are Witchdoctors and Monks which weren’t exactly ultra popular characters in D3.
Assassins are covered by Rogues, so are Amazons except for the Javelin/Shield playstyle. We got Barbs, Paladins, Sorcs, Druids and Necros. I can’t think who else is missing.

no other game that i know have a class like that… felt original and tied to the diablo IP. yet they just ignore that he was a thing lol
Sorcers can to. In fact are there shirlds in the game i played a barb and did not notice shield
You covered them all and I also thought that the Rogue kind of covered Amazons and Demon Hunters.
EDIT: I did not like the Monk version in Hellfire (?) but the one in D3 wasn’t bad.
