So, like many people, I bought Lord of Hatred as soon as it was announced because I wanted access to the Paladin class, and from a class and gameplay perspective, I have not been disappointed, especially in this season; it’s been great.
So kudos to Blizzard and the Diablo 4 team for giving Paladin enjoyers this experience.
But I’ve got to admit I am a bit disappointed. I created 2 paladins. One of them skipped the campaigns and jumped right into seasonal content; the other didn’t because I wanted to see if there was any unique dialogue or interactions within the campaign or by doing side quests, and from everything I’ve seen there simply isn’t any. Even quests where I should be recognized as a Paladin (Quests involving the Cathedral of Light), I’m just treated as average joe number 666.
Now maybe this is because it’s a Lord of Hatred class, and when Lord of Hatred releases, a bunch of new interactions will be added into vanilla D4 and Vessel of Hatred. I hope that is the case. Otherwise that’s going to be a significant detractor in the Paladin experience moving forward.
