According to the news articles. The internal dev build is 2.5.Xpaladin.67961. This necessarily does not indicate an expansion is coming, but could also indicate it is. However, we know that the they haven’t really shown us anything on the next “expansion” as we know from the roadmap its in “development” and all we got was for 2026 was new expansion, leaderboards, and new ranking system. Which remember they stated they wanted one expansion almost every year. (which I knew it wouldn’t be this way)
My guess and this is just me is this will be a DLC pack for the current game, just similar to how the Necromancer dropped in D3.
Some of the content creators are at Blizzard HQ testing something and some of them will also be at Gamescom next week so we shall see. They also had a meeting with Blizzard and were shown new things that are coming to D4.
Well we know the expansion is in the works, what will be with it aside from a new class, zone, story, etc. is up for debate. Doesn’t mean they won’t add in classes like they did with Necro for D3, but at least for now we will be getting a full expansion.
Hopefully Gamescon will reveal more, considering the fact they flew out content creators again to test out the new expansion and give their take on it. I don’t think Blizzard would sit on that for too long, so they’ll reveal it to the public at Gamescon, then you’ll see a bunch of videos pop up from various content creators.
They better launch that class and/or that expension the sooner as possible, or else I doubt the game will survive long… without director, without new content, and others big arpg titles incoming.
Without GM, they still have a director Brent Gibson, that hasn’t changed.
GM - business side of things
Director - developmental side of things
Give or take of course there’s more nuance than that with those jobs, but just in general.
That all sounds nice and good but remember theres still not a single unique crossbow in this game. x - + DIV =
Its a shame
They just released one, go check the notes. Your wish has come true.

Unique Power:
Ohh i guess my eyes have not been ready to read and understand yet
Hooray for Unique X-Bow
This is the beginning of a new era. Mark my words. Everything will be good soon.
Today i have to celebrate. I start with doing the last 6 paragon levels
So I guess now we’re just waiting for the D3 Crusader — sorry, “Paladin” — with a few skills slightly re-skinned and some D3 passives awkwardly slapped onto the fake skill tree
and fishing
But me haz to celebrate now. Everyone have a nice palidan leak
PS: Hopefully we get a badass Dante Version. And a new endgame activity called “Hell Delve” where we can delve/dive/fight through countless of randomly generated layers of hell with interesting bosses monsters and awesome loot.
PPS: I put Brent Gibson through the Monkey Scanner (( )) And here are the results.
This man:
6 out of 6 monkey points

Shocking.
This was the most telegraphed hero release in the history of releases.
Not that it is going to really help the game at all, but it will distract some people for a bit. I guess that is their aim overall, instead of improving the game.
The only one that matters to me:

Besides IggiNotes ™ that is
If Paladin is coming, we can guess the next expansion will be around angels and heaven… could be very nice with the current level of graphism… I mean if they work with same graphists than for the open world landscapes… we could even see some archangels ^^

I absolutely love that the first picture in the GameRant article is literary the Diablo Immortal class poster with Diablo IV emblazoned on it. Tells you everything you need to know about the current state of the Diablo franchise.
