Hello. I m running an hota bash barb and confused about the importance of the unique aspect (up to 200% damage) of this item.
It is better to run paingorger with low main stat and perfect attack speed and or crit chance or the 200x is a must? Really confused … which damage this x200 procs?

Any enemy you damage with a non-a
Basic will be marked. Marked enemies take Direct Damage from your next Basic Skill. The damage you deal is Base Damage, so no Crit or Overpowers. Upgrades do not apply and it does not fully snap-shot. This basically turns your Basic Attacks into an AoE. Please note that for Flay, it is busted as it only applies the Direct Damage portion of Flay and NOT the Bleed.
To your point, I think Attack Speed is probably best. If you have the stats for it, Critical Strike Chance is fantastic going Grandfather route. Your Bash already Cleaves and AoE isn’t that much of a problem to begin with. If you spam Bash, going from 1 second to .5 second attacks DOUBLES your DPS.
Attack speed and crit chance should be high on Paingorger since your primary damage isn’t Basic skills. I would say get a legendary glove with attack speed and crit chance as well as +Rank to Hammer of the Ancient.
I think they are running Bash but using HoTA for the x30% Damage when you Overpower?
