Paingorgers does not work with Rod of Kepeleke

I am not sure what exactly is going on, but I am using a Spiritborn build that heavily uses Payback. Modifier makes Payback a core skill and Rod of Kepeleke makes Core skills into Basic and free to cast. But somehow Paingorgers Gauntlets do not boost the damage of it. It should effectively add 300% more damage (extra attack + 200% damage) provided you can keep the mark on (I know the payback will not mark the target). It instead somehow does 10 times less damaging version (or probably even less).

I tried it on a target dummy and monsters in the field and timed the result. It just does not add almost anything damage-vise and therefore it does not work as it should.

By the way, when I remove the modifier for the payback to be a core skill, the Payback is still free to cast somehow. But it does not trigger the “When cast at maximum vigor” condition of Kepeleke. No idea what is going on there…

Paingorger is a base of all Basic skill builds, so this hurts a lot here. Please fix it.

The Rod makes a Core skill also a Basic Skill. Paingorgers requires a non-basic skill to trigger, which Payback wouldn’t trigger Pain Gorgers because it’s a basic skill, and it’s won’t do the damage of Pain Gorgers because it’s a non-basic skill.

Please read what I wrote first, then reply.

I know it does not trigger it and I triggered it using different ability to make sure the target is marked. It still did almost no damage.

and it’s won’t do the damage of Pain Gorgers because it’s a non-basic skill.

This makes no sense and I disagree. Paingorgers boosts damage of Basic skills and Payback is now a Basic skill. I am certain that is how it should work, because I have other modifiers on Legendaries that boost Basic skills and it works with Payback. So there is no reason why it should not work with Paingorgers.

And by the way, I did not say that it does not mirror the damage. I tried it on multiple target dummies and marked all of them. They did get some damage mirrored onto them, but it was like 1% of the actual damage that I did to the main target.

You know, it is only the first attack, right?
I used Pain Gorgrs with the staff and it worked for touch of death. Even i have to say, the overall result was quite underwhelming.
Use moonrise aspect, that is really good with the staff.

Ravager marks the target with every attack, that is not the problem. The problem is the actual hits, not DPS.
