Paingorger gauntlets do not trigger their AOE damage on marked targets when you use a basic, channeled skill. This seems to be the case for both the initial cast and channeled damage. This was tested using necromancer skill decompose.
Paingorger gauntlets also do not mark enemies when they’re hit by non-basic skills cast from an equipped item (like corpse explosion cast from the ring of sacrilegious soul). The item description does not specify that the skill must be cast by the player, and that the enemy need only be hit by a non-basic skill.
Fixing these two issues would expand the usability of this unique item.

In my case, it works for the sacrilegious ring, andys nova, shadowblight procs, and xfals nova… they mark the enemies… but yes decompose also doesnt work for me….
Also wont crit nor Overpower
Do u have a video that shows that automatic corpse explosion wont mark enemies?

I’ll retest it tonight and see if I can produce a video. I’m hopeful you’re correct. I also forgot to mention, I used hemorrhage as the basic skill to see if the damage was actually echoing to other targets.
I tested. You are right. No marking from automatic casts from ring
Xfals explosion marks. Andys nova marks. Also doombringer shadownova marks.
So when i said it works for the ring, im wrong. It actually doesnt, i mustve just gotten confused

Unfortunately, I was unable to produce a video, but I extensively tested paingorger and sacreligious ring again last night and I was unable to get it to mark the target dumbies (on both PC and PS5).
I have no idea why some items are working and others aren’t. It makes less sense to me that an item proc like Andys would mark enemies and an actual skill cast by an item does not.
There are so many bugs present.
Also Decompose does more Xfals procs if you spam click it instead of channel which is for sure not intended.
Also Sac ring consumes corpse on Tendrils despite it saying it wont
