I don’t think I have ever seen a damage source to be this complex and confusing in any game ever.
To this day I do not understand overpower. Seem easy, right? (Health + Fortify) * Overpower, but then we get all these claims that your skill level don’t matter, your 15 types of damages don’t matter, however these 3 random things and these passives apply but these other passives don’t apply.
I mean wtf is even all this? Whats wild to me is that I did my own testing and I am pretty sure that your over all damage does matter, as overpower don’t just seem to ignore all of your damage numbers and just replace it with it’s own formula, instead it seem to add it on top of that you do already. I say that because I have tried swapping to much weaker weapon and/or also removing skill levels and my overpower hit for less damage than it did with better weapon and maxed out blood surge.
However, I see people hit for way higher numbers than me and claim that leveling skill level 1 is fine! No damage modifier matters. Now… how can both of us be right? When I tested it the level and damage did seem to add damage and yet people that ignore it hit for way more?
Like what gives? Wtf is this mechanic? Can we get some official statement like:
a) Overpower ignores everything but health, fortify and overpower.
b) Your usual damage is amplified by overpower formula.
Also why in the f would damage to close, damage when healthy, damage from blood orbs and such not matter for overpower if it ups your damage to which overpower is added on later? God I hate this mechanic so much, why does it have to be so confusing?
God damn it, it’s exactly what I though it was. Idk if I just have stupid brain when it comes to this but this sheet tells me absolutely nothing about things I want to know.
This is the guy who have a necro that hits harder than my necro and he claims that levels and damage don’t matter if I understand him correctly, and yet when I test it, levels and damage do matter so again, the fing fk is overpower?
Also that sheet does not mention anything about the 100 types of different damage modifiers this game has. Like ok, what about damage to close? Damage while healthy? Damage while you are playing on vocation and using wifi?
The idea and concept is amazing, the way it’s being rushed out without any thoughts or testing is bad.
As bad as trying to put thorns on Druid and Necro when only barb has proper support and scaling on that affix.
Just like Overpower only work with Necros and partially Bear Druids. If I don’t pick overpower nodes on Bloodlance or Surge I’ll have to depend on that Pathetic 12 seconds Rathma’s vigor to overpower. 12 seconds not affected by any CD.
Good ****ing point, but I hope someone does. I just find it incredibly unlikely that something as mundane as damage to close for example would not work. Like if that ups your normal damage, which should be factored in before overpower is even applied, why would it not work?
Hey, I don’t expect that much, I just want to know if takes a deep breath : damage to close, damage to distant, blood skill damage, damage, weapon, skill levels, damage while healthy, damage from blood orbs, factor in any way into overpower hit.
I stress, I know it does not make your overpower % higher and I am hating that I have to break illuminati code just to find out if all the damage you stack works for overpower hits because overpower applied on top of your normal attacks (which you know, factor all of that damage). Or somehow, by some weird logic it applies you weapon damage but removes every other damage amplifier from any hits that proc overpower?
Did I read somewhere that overpower doesn’t scale well in endgame and that Blizzard were going to fix it? Or did I dream that… can’t find a source anywhere so maybe I dreamed it.
That google drive link is useful (to me) because he is testing it with actual scenarios and aspects, so interesting.
I’m surprised the lance from orb does not work, bug?
