Can anyone else confirm if it’s bugged for both. I use bash to proc the overpower as well as the 10 weapon swap aspect for overpower. I’ve had numerous times where the count just disappears without proccing an overpower on both. Anyone else have same issue?
I can confirm that Earthstriker’s Aspect is bugged and the stacks will sometimes just disappear. This has been posted quite a few times on posts like the one with the massive running list of broken Aspects or mechanics that Blizzard just flat out does not address.
Considering maybe only a handful of people are using Bash and the rest are using Lunging Strike for the movement and guaranteed Berserking, I don’t think you will find enough people that can definitively comment on the 4x Bash Crit giving you Overpower on your next Core or Combat Skill.
I am currently using Bash and will swap to that upgrade and check it out. I was using 2 1H Maces with Earthstriker and tested the issue myself of stacks falling off. Can confirm that random things are not proccing it and using the Overpower.
that be great if you can. let me know as I am trying to determine if its still worth using
Can confirm, I thought the latest patch fixed this, but alas I wrongly assumed. I tried an overpower build before and trying again now with close to 1K overpower percentage. I’ve been swapping weapons back and forth for the last 10 minutes and only saw two blue numbers appear on screen. Pretty sure those are just the normal 3% chance.
Are you using Earthstriker together with Bash Overpower? Have you tried independently? Also, do you have Dominate Glyph, I have heard reports this is what bugs it.
Its definitely wonky.
The 4 crits from bash seam to be mostly consistent and trigger an over power of core skills.
The Earthstriker one is wonky, possibly from the term ‘Attack,’ and the overpower gets ‘eaten’ in an unpredictable way. e.g. will a thorns hit trigger it. Will the persistent earthquake pulses trigger it?
If you swap weapons 10 times you will notice it triggers when the 10th attack begins, but is not consumed until it does damage. So if you don’t hit any enemies on your 10th weapon swap you’ll get the ‘next attack overpowers’ status buff to appear. But if your 10th weapon swap does damage then that status will be instantly consumed.
Either way, sometimes it doesn’t seem to overpower, or overpowers some other damage e.g. thorns or something.
I’ve been playing overpower build for a while and it is functional and wrecks stuff, but there are times it definitely feels like an overpower is just lost occasionally.
i use bash and earthstriker, do you know if the 50% x multiplier works on every overpower and not just the OP from earthstriker?
I know what this issue and why the proc Disappears.
I did some testing, theres a glyph that lets you overpower every 30sec.
Now when you get that buff and IF you use any shout it technically hits an Enemy and uses the buff.
I then tested it out with the 10 swaps and a shout will also use up the buff.
Today’s patch.
- Fixed an issue where the guaranteed Overpower buff from the Barbarian’s Earthstriker’s Aspect would be consumed upon gaining any other buff.
saw that. OP builds can rejoice!
Not so fast unforch…
Can also confirm after patch this is still a problem with earthstriker. I do bleed upheaval and in a pack group I would expect like other skills on a natural overpower that persistently hit everything with the effect that would happen. I can’t seem to pick out a single overpower within the group. Even with only three mobs in a pack I am unable to spot an overpower hitting anything much less all the targets. I don’t know if it is affecting a bleed tick that is behind the scenes but the buff is not disappearing until the attack is completed. If this is intended for one target overpower I will not be continuing to use this aspect in its current form and is a disappointment.
It may be the bleed tick, but I don’t think DoTs can overpower. However, the quake from leap or groundstomp pulses direct damage and its ticks can overpower.
e.g. I do leapquake. If I have a quake on the ground pulsing damage and then trigger the 10th weapon swap then many times the quake pulse will overpower.
This is easily scene if I quake, step away with mobs in the quake, trigger the 10th weapon swap then the quake will always overpower. In combat it is unpredictable as its just a timing issue of when the 10th weapon swap begins and the next ‘attack’ occurreing. Sometimes the quake pulse happens before the 10th attack completes and the quake pulse eats the overpower.
Its also interresting to note that it is the next attack that does damage. That is why sometimes you overpower the attack that made the 10th weapon swap when it damages an enemy. But it if it doesn’t damage an enemy then you will keep the ‘next attack overpowers’ buff and your 11th attack with overpower.
I think you can also see the behavior with the Aspect of Ancestral Force that make HoTa quake outwards. That aspect essentially make HoTa a two part attack; the main HoTa attack and the secondary quake attack.
If HoTa is your 10th weapon swap and the first main attack hits enemies then HoTa will overpower, consuming the buff, but the quake of HoTa will not. However if you swing short, and the main HoTa attack doesn’t hit anything, then larger radius quake can overpower. This is actually pretty sick once you understand it, especially if you have the quake damage at 100% as then you now just have a larger HoTa that can overpower. Pretty cool, but not intuitive.
Unlike 4 crits trigger of combat bash that only overpowers core or weapon mastery, Earthstrikers overpowers any attack, and things like the quake dmg pulse is considered an attack apparently.
