I think the hardcore people that make a living off of video games “streamers” are current making too quick of judgement of the game. I am a very casual gamer, a father, and work. I am enjoying this game immensely and log in with no troubles. I think the ones constantly play games all day are ruining the enjoyment of Diablo. Its a far cry of Diablo 3’s initial release. This game has plenty to offer and you don’t even have to spend a dime besides purchasing the standard edition. If you don’t want to play, then don’t. Don’t drag the developers down because you get bored. Thank you.
I couldn’t imagine you having a job outside of house dad or farm hand because your ability to study an issue then adress it properly are beyond low. If you had taken any time to read literally any of the complaints from beta till now its an echo chamber of the same thing.
I feel you need to get to what you think the end of the game is before posting they said they dont like this and i don’t like them for that nonsense, your post has 0 to do with the overall state of the game.
Have you ever played Diablo?..there is no end game.
They advertised it as a mmo-like experience, then make the game almost exclusively single player.
In fact they have deliberately make everything that involve other players a worse experience than solo…
I play maybe 5-7 hours per week, and even i have 2x 100 and 1x 60 hardcore, it does not take a lot of time to realize the game does not have a lot to offer.
I am honestly just playing it because my brother does, and we use the game as a chat room instead of actually playing the game…
The game being in a bad state is not just a streamer opinion.
The game is just in a bad state, period.
If you enjoy it then good for you.
Is a video game supposed to provide enjoyment for 500 hours? 5000 hours? 10000 hours? What is end game? I find that to be subjective depending on the person.
having been through arpg rollouts. I expect there will be updates to address “end game”. Grim dawn is a great example. I couldn’t think to play it now without big qol updates and expansions as vanilla was not enough.
As someone who got to 83 hoping the game would get better… it doesnt. I got 3 chargebacks though so its not like it matters. Everyone should chargeback this bait and switch.
No amount of “PR POSTING” is going to get people back here btw blizzard. You shoulda said “I love murica and apple pie and diablo 4” just to amp the meme level to max
Nobody has to drag the developers, they did a bang up job of that themselves by this trash game.
If you enjoy it great, my dog enjoys chasing his own tail.
There’s something called mental development, standards, and taste.
If this was 2 months ago I could possibly acknowledge your opinion but at this point even the most casual of gamers should have finished the campaign and run into this game’s issues. So you’re either playing what amounts to 10 minutes a day, or you have the lowest of expectations caused from brain damage by Blizzard and I feel sorry for you.
The end game in diablo 2 is Magic finding/Cows/Ubers/CHaos/Baal and duels.
LOL, I think the haters can just smell when a positive thread about the game is posted…its like a sixth sense at this point. What is that smell? Is that positivity? Not in my F’ing forum about a game I have a different subjective view of.
Even though I enjoy the game it isn’t without its issue’s, like any other game. Itemization needs work especially with the bloat of affixes. Rerolling costs are absolutely ridiculous. Endgame needs work…hopefully these get adressed. They did say in season 2 endgame bossing will be a thing. Looking forward to what they come up with.
The amount of redundant affixes is pretty draining to sift through. Why is +slowed and +chilled separate on gear when they do the same thing? Or +shrine buff duration…
I hear you on that. There’s a large perception difference regarding D4 between players who mostly experience the early game on a couple characters and exploring options as they go (casuals) vs. players who are looking to reach level 100 and max out a couple builds within a month or two (since the season only lasts 3 months).
My brother and I both very much enjoyed the early game and exploring various class playstyles. For that level of play, advancement and item upgrading seemed quick and interesting, campaign and story presentation was good.
However once you get past those areas and hit level 65-70 and move into WT4 and start needing a really solid build put together… that appears to be when the cracks in the game start to show.
IMO this mostly explains the large gap in scores between what reviewers/critics gave to D4 (quite high ratings) and what dedicated players are giving (much lower).
So keep in mind that perhaps other people, playing the game differently, aren’t necessarily making a “too quick” or “misjudgement” of D4… they may simply be encountering gameplay issues that aren’t too bad in the early game.
you’re not my dad! (slams door)
This is a completely fair viewpoint. The issue with gamers in general these days is that you are either on one camp, or the other. People are comfortable with basically saying “You like the game I don’t like so you don’t understand games on a level that I do so your subjective opinion of the game isn’t valid”.
There are definitely tribalist’s on both sides but at least with the people that enjoy the game they can also list issues with it and have constructive conversations around it instead of the haters just saying “This game bad…cause its bad”. Not all of them are like that, but the vast majority of those that didn’t like it, and were constructive, left the forums awhile ago a leaving us with the outrage zealots we have now…
Got the game as a gift, will not play it again until I see they have improved the game. Still haven’t played season 1. My main gripe is in a game about loot and feeling stronger the more I level why is loot so poor and the weaker I feel?.
Just my thoughts on a fun game.
Eh, they very often said it was not anything like an MMO.
Sadly not accurate. Group play is much easier and somehow also rewards better.
Easier makes for a worse experience, sure, but more rewarding is usually considered better in a game about character progression.
One of the first things they should fix tbh.
While I dont think there are many redundant affixes, yeah, there are some. Slow and chill could be merged. Stun and freeze as well.
Only speaking item affixes of course. They should still be separate effects.
Merge CC affixes into “soft CC” and “hard CC” basically.
I played casually with my casual friends and we’ve all moved on due to a fun game becoming unfun due to developer decisions. but strawman away.
There are basic hotfixes included as features in Season 2 meaning the Eternal realm players won’t have quality of life fixes until 2024, good day.
Diablo 4 is a shame to the aRPG genre. People who like this game probably are not actual Diablo fans.
