Open world and no trading?

Its a bit ironic no? They made diablo 4 into a open world with added MMO features.

They want to encourage cross-play/interaction from users, and forced everyone to play online. But at the same time they remove trading of legendries lol.

Force you to team up to do content. I really think this is a bunch of half measures and half thought out ideas that have somehow became core functions in D4 lol.

Man really dont want to see this game go down the Overwatch 1 route.

Before people come in and complain about bots and RMT and say it will ruin the game.

The best and most popular ARPG’s have open trade. So that’s a moot argument that it will kill the game lol.

EDIT : Also iam not saying to enable or not enable it, I dont think Diablo 4 items are good enough to sustain a large market its way too simplified, everyone’s gonna be chasing the same high roll legendries its a very basic no depth system. But like everyones playing psuedo self found minus a few things. Just give players the option to play offline or like solo. DONT FORCE, but have that option? Cause they already playing solo self found XD.

What would be the benefit of trading between players?

There is trading you just can’t trade everything. But based on the drop rates we have seen so far doesn’t look like you will need to.

I could make some supplemental income

Is this really a question? A god tier item drops for you that your build has no use for, you could trade it to someone for something that your build can use… Trading is another ARPG staple that blizz will leave out because solving RMT is beyond them.

Much prefer to FIND my own items and prefer a game designed that way.

But hey, like that’s just my opinion man.

…the option… of being… able to trade???

What? how is this a question someone can come up with lol.

D4 is based more on D3 than D2

And in other ARPGs you could do both. Last epoch is introducing player factions that you’ll join, one being the bazaar (auction house) and one being the council of mystics (solo self found playstyle and target farming buffs but locked out of the bazaar). However solving these problems is too much work for blizzard so they just remove the ability entirely and call it progress.

Idk I kind of like chatting and trading. But meh, just would be cool you know? To be able to stand in towns and chat with other players and trade. XD.

Diablo 4 could do that too!
We can label them accordingly:
Server 1 - Standard, limited trading.
Server 2 - Cesspool, unlimited trading.

(*edit: I had an idea for a “Trading House” - not Auctions - but decided not to bother with posting it or pursuing the design of it. Non-gold in-game farmable, limited currency cap, static tiered prices and item trades are BOA upon trade(1 time only per item).)

I get the point, but I think there are a lot of implications to that that could have a negative impact on the game. What did you think of the auction house in d3?

This is pretty much what I think anytime I see someone crying about trading. They’re probably sad they can’t exploit the game with a multitude of bots and sell the uniques they find.

You think?

What are they exactly? The negatives?

Yeah lol.

Its NOT HARD to come up with a good system with regards to trading man.

Its just .,… they dont. And its kind of baffling.

Same thing happened with Overwatch, just not with trading. Like very GLARING self satisfactory balance/game designs choices which the main purpose is to APPEASE. And it just never really went any where other then kill the committed player base lol.

The whole ecosystem which grows around the game. They tried to overcome this in D3 with the auction house but it didn’t work.

Sure there’s always gonna be a negative? Idk why that is your line of thinking.

Cartelism has a negative impact nature. But we are all living our best lives out here, i doubt any of us want to go back to pre-capitalisms life style.

Why are you so focused on the negatives? Instead of weighing the balance of pros and cons? Like are you a goldfish? Is thinking about more then 1 thing hard for you to do?

You are pushing me quiet a lot in a direction I never stated. I only asked about the benefits and I threw in the possible implications of such a trading system. To clarify: I don’t think trading would be bad or could not work.

Hey man since I am talking to a goldfish, that cant even remember what he himself typed 5 minutes ago. I requote your message and highlighted it for you. At this point its got to be satire right? Or is this really the level of IQ I am engaging with.

That’s no problem. Here is a link to begin with:
