Online Only Gameplay

Hi,

I’m wondering why an internet connection is required to play Diablo 4? There are times that I’m unable to play because I’m “Queued For Game - Start Game Pending”. I cannot start playing because I’m in an online queue to play. I get the benefits of being online while playing (interacting with fellow Sanctuary folks)…but consider allowing for Offline play.

Posting in the Technical Support category because there isn’t one for suggestions and feedback. Consider creating a category for this as well, please.

a couple reasons that i figure.

it acts as a drm to prevent pirating.

and it helps prevent hacking and duping gear because it keeps some important files, like your game saves, server side. d3 on Xbox had an offline mode, and the Xbox version suffered hacked gear and dupes floating around.
