One shots are way overtuned

Played a ranged build no problems since you just melt everthing from a distance, all Torment bosses were a joke except for Beast in the Ice since it’s bugged, same with high Infernals and Pit. Switched to melee and it’s completely miserable, you get hit with AOEs close range that instantly stack to 3 enrage and kill you, you have nearly zero time to react, you literally have to play perfectly at like Pit 61 boss or else you will just rip over and over, T6+ infernals are awful as well. Fire whoever came up with this idea and just get rid of enrage completely. Of all the things you could have stole from PoE, you went with one-shots lol

I think being snared makes it a lot worse. “Avoid the mechanics” snared, can’t move fast enough to get away from something. Didn’t have an unstoppable cooldown in that moment. Dead. Came to this place for no reason with 0 reward.

It’s just garbage. Enrage should be scrapped since overgeared builds just one-tap bosses and avoid the mechanics completely anyways. The only people who get punished are the ones who don’t play OP metas.

When I saw on PTR they had added tormented stacks to pit bosses I decided then I was done. That is even on an insanely geared character that rarely had to engage with mechanics.

You have a group in denial insisting these games require “skill”, so you get to dance around like an idiot while you farm mats on bosses you will kill over and over again. As one that can back up my “skill” with rankings (lol), it’s ridiculous.

If I want a challenge, I will play a game with that caveat in mind that is done infinitely better. Dodging shadow bosses or whatever they put in IH for 5+min for each kill so somebody can feel like they are “skilled” in a genre not about such is a pass for me. Go play a Souls game or Helldivers (solo, don’t you dare unfairly group to your advantage like many of you cry about here!) if you want to be a masochist and get dopamine that way.

It is full of damage bug in season 5! Especially +7 elites, Pit and Hellfire. It is like you are immortal in Hellfire, but it kills you insant for no reason. I just tell you what happened, it is all I can say!

Its a dumb mechanic by lazy developers that can’t figure how to design a challenging fight

I want to like this game. But i just cant deal with the one shots.

Melee in D4 is a suicide. I play Flurry rogue and got killed instantly once I dashed to a mob. I switched to long ranged attack, it’s totally another game like walking in a garden.

I would say I’m fairly skilled at Arpgs. Like I have 40 challenged POE leagues multiple times every league of Diablo I play I get secret title within a week, have 2k hours in Lost Ark blah blah but I honestly just rip to some complete BS with melee in D4, I’m certain some monsters are bugged and assume you have full enrage stacks even in non pit, non torment content.

The concept with the stackable debuff is garbage. Remove it from the game and the game is finally fun.

I don’t know what to tell you.

I play in melee range, I can stack to 6 buffs and not die, Pit 61 is a joke, I can clear while carrying someone in about a minute, including the boss, and just face tank the boss for the 5 seconds it takes to kill him.

The debuff is a good thing. I can’t even fathom how people think that’s bad. The debuff is there to STOP 1 shots. The point is, if you play bad and take on at least 1 stack, you would have already died in S4.

You have to put thought in to your DR. You can’t just armor and res cap and think you’re unstoppable.

You need to have permanent barrier and/or fortify, you need to have a high passive DR %, as well as conditional DR to increase your surviviability.

When you do it properly, there’s little that will 1 shot in the game anymore.

T7+ Desecrator can, but this mostly can be mitigated with more HP or avoiding his fire attack and not letting him backstab you.

It’s not even a skill issue, it’s a build issue, but skill does come in to play.

For reference I’m not using a meta build. Haven’t even looked to see what they are, I’m playing something completely built by scratch, and it’s the most fun I’ve had in D4 yet.

I’m about the same in terms of season completion, though because I hated Lilith anyway (all the red and my iwn laziness learning the mechanics for a boss that drops nothing/serves no loop purpose) I never went for secret titles. Consistently getting top 50 last season was my last accomplishment for lack of a better word.

I just feel the “skill” is supposed to come from understanding systems, not dancing around crap all day. Like on the PTR, I spent more time dodging crap that took away from my uptime on the boss. That nonsense belongs in an MMO (where you have a tank that can eat the damage).

Tormented stacks on the 200 bosses I was fine with, but a 101 pit boss that I was used to clearing in 2-3 minutes taking almost the entire time lest I get too many stacks and die because of it if I ignore mechanics? That’s enough for me to pass even harder on redoing any masterworking, let alone do a fresh season of it.

I don’t mind mechanics either, but D4’s feel lazy, that trivialize defense (which used to be a stat you could rely on when attempting undergeared).

In LE, Jul’ra 100 was my first roadblock for awhile. Honestly a lot of it was me moving too much. It doesn’t take me 10 minutes of perfect execution anymore, I outgear it. I have only attempted Aberroth twice but imagine that first kill will take a bit then I will outgear him too.

I’ve accepted for whatever reason the D4 community enjoys dodging lazy mechanics for 5-10 minutes every time and never really “farming” bosses (without ubers and whatever broken build exists that season). All it did for me was confirm S4 would be my last.

Edit-then I also read a trash mob it sniping people left and right in IH they haven’t fixed, lol.
