On the stream they said that they were adding vendors and rearranging the town for the next season since we’ll be traveling there a lot more. Please also make this a “main” town and let me see my party members portals there.

I could easily see this happening honestly. If it’s not there when you load up the PTR make sure to leave feedback using the in game button, or on the PTR forums when it goes live.

The Mercenaries could hang around there too. Or maybe add an option to switch followers without teleporting to the Den.
I don’t know how needed this will be if we can turn in whispers in places other then going to the tree but it would be nice
They should just be a token and you can stockpile and cash in when you need experience, gold, or materials. And you could use them on alts to get some decent gear quick.
Great suggestion! Very often we’re at the tree and have to take a waypoint to a main town, just to rejoin our friends.
I can understand why minor towns don’t have that functionality (because there often isn’t enough physical space around the waypoint) but yeah, if they’re rearranging things, the tree seems like enough of a major hub to justify it.
You mean like… the whispher reward should just be a cache, which you can save in your stash, and use at any time you like in the future on any alt to get items, experience, gold, and materials? 
My understanding from the Live Stream was that this would be available for S7, they showed the Crows standing on a post that would be in Wisper locations, but we would need for this to be extended as a permanant feature.
We would which I think that it’s maybe 50/50
