On Hardcore specifically renown, Lilith statues, and map progress do not transfer to seasonal

For the new season I created a hardcore character and none of the renown, lilith alter, or map progress carried over. I had logged in both before and after the update on my other characters and still no carry over

For reference my new character is a seasonal hardcore character that started on world tier 1, im going to refer to this as my original seasonal hardcore character and all my other characters were non-seasonal, non-hardcore characters on world tier 2.

Things I tried below

  1. logged in and out of every character then back into my original seasonal hardcore character
  2. logged into my most progressed character, walked around a bit, closed the game, reopened and logged into original seasonal hardcore
  3. created a new seasonal NON-hardcore character on world tier 2
  4. created a new seasonal hardcore character on world tier 2
  5. created a new seasonal hardcore character on world tier 1

Here are the results of these actions in order

  1. did nothing, no progress carry over
  2. did nothing, no progress carry over
  3. All progress carried over from my other non hardcore characters
  4. progress was carried over from my original seasonal hardcore character but not from my other characters
  5. progress was carried over from my original seasonal hardcore character but not from my other characters

Given this information it is clear to me that the issue is that hardcore characters take the progress from the hardcore character that has the most progress. Whereas non hard core characters take the progress from the non hardcore character that has the most progress. So if you are like me and played the game as a non hardcore character and then created a hardcore for the start of the seasaon, you will not get the progress carried over. Is this intended or is this a bug? My understanding was that these things should be account wide now but there was no mention of hardcore vs non hardcore characters. If that’s the case I would call this a bug

That IS the case and it is not a bug. Nothing from HC transfers to SC, and nothing from SC transfers to HC.

Except completion of campaign that transfers to all game modes. If you completed the campaign in SC it will be completed in HC and vise versa. NOTHING else transfers between the two modes.

Really? I am willing to accept that but I think there needs to be something added to the patch notes to specify this. The patch notes just say

  • Altar of Lilith Unlocks are now account wide.
  • Map discovery is now account wide.

This to me says it doesnt matter what kind of character, its account wide. Unless I am missing it somewhere I dont see it specified anywhere that things dont transfer between HC and SC for this. I am willing to bet other players also have the same misunderstanding as I do

Fair point, but it has worked this way in ALL Diablo games for the past 27 years. They probably expect people to know that by now.

The Renown is a MASSIVE damage and toughness boost. It makes no sense to be able to complete that on SC and then start in HC with all that power that you did not earn there.

That would trivialize HC progression, and it would be the same as transferring a set of gear that you farmed in SC over to HC.

They have said many times no power gained in SC will ever transfer to HC so they did specify it just not in the same section. I agree wouldn’t have been hard to be more specific, but yea it’s been mentioned in other places many times.
