I recently started using the Omnipower wrathful heart and it always consumes mana even on the free casts from my avalanche key passive and aspect. This includes the channeling shrine as well. No matter what my frozen orb always consumes mana and I don’t think this is how the heart was intended to work. Please help! Thank you
It drains all your mana regardless of the cast cost.
I noticed similar with my CL build thinking the same until I looked a little closer and noticed I was getting an extra CL stream compared to without shrine buff
So the actual “cast” of your ability doesn’t cost anything, as the shrine buff gives.
But Omnipower drains mana because you casted it, so you should get an extra “free” cast from it as long as you have the mana pool
It definitely casts “free” frozen orbs when Omnipowers effect kicks in but when I have avalanche key passive and avalanche aspect I should be able to cast frozen orb twice without it costing any mana. So is it because of the extra orbs that it takes mana?? Because my skill bar still glows when avalanche is active so I’m getting the extra damage and still using mana on those avalanche casts

The loss of Mana under shrine or other circumstances like Avalanche are because Omnipower is consuming to produce the extra casts.
When I first started using Omnipower I thought the same thing when hitting a shrine, full casts with no cost.
But I did end up noticing the 1 extra proc going off and it made sense, albeit disappointing.
Makes me wonder if Omnipower does the same with Fireball casted with Endless rage.
Omnipower does label it’s proc as a cast, and Endless Rage says every 3 casts of fireball will cast 3.
So unless it falls into the same as Avalanche and Shrine buffs, you could have Endless Rage going off every cast plus however many Fireballs Omnipower gives you.
Toss on Illumination Gloves and…
Might have to play fire a little and experiment one of these days

Makes sense because when I proc avalanche Omnipower and my enchantment at the same time I cast 3-4 frozen orbs at once which is pretty fun. I do run out of mana but umbral quickly regains it if I hit a bunch of enemies. I’m running hydras and frozen orb and it’s been fun so far. Might try fireball with those items as well could be pretty interesting
