The audio issue was absurd, and not pinning a message about it was worse. It lead to sycophants blaming everyone who said anything about it… and the only issue fixed was the peaking issue created because the team couldn’t figure it out … for the entire stream. I bailed to watch on Wudijo’s channel because he boosted the audio by 20dB!!!
I’ve made my stance clear on all the changes intended to make this game take more time… so I’ll skip that.
Something said during the Q&A really bothered me… and triggered a memory of another campfire. I’m paraphrasing here… but they actually said “class balance is undesirable”.
This reminded me of the time it was said that trying to balance classes was impossible because buffing an underperforming class would make it OP and the cycle repeats… which doesn’t even make logical sense UNLESS your system and approach are completely broken.
Nobody expects perfect 1:1 parity on DPS… but your expressions around balance are mind-blowing. I HATED d2 synergies because of the impact of build variety… but I understood giving us guardrails made balancing easier. You launched with a ton of guardrails in place, and you’re expressing that balance is impossible and actually undesirable!!! omgwtfbbq.
You guys just keep proving you’re the wrong people for the job. GG.
Not vouching for the accuracy of this statement - but on its face it can be read as “it would overshoot our time/money budget each season, because seasons are deprioritized”. I get that there may even be conflicting messages being put out (their PR is very bland & uninformative), but the long view supports my hunch: too much work, can’t figure out without blowing our seasonal budget, expansion 2 has drained all our brainpower.
But they’ve also been all about crazy multipliers that they can never get a grip on, right?
Come to Last Epoch buddy. We have endgame. We have everything. Stash tabs, map overlay, Auction House, SSF, customizable maps, real loot, skill variety and modifiers, so so many random encounters, so many different shrines (worth a mention because they’re fun), and more.
Hence my statement about the system and approach being broken.
I can’t use the simpler version of the word here.
I’ve been suggesting this stuff for almost two years now, the refrain is always “we’re talking about it” for any meaningful improvement… and then maybe you get it a year later. maybe. more likely they ignore the feedback and try something entirely different to address an issue small fraction of the actual people that bought this game care about… wasting as much of their time as possible.
I watched someone stream it… maybe one day on sale, but I will always want the Diablo franchise to be worthy of its legendary status… not this slop.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m moving on from playing… not criticizing this dumpster fire. I haven’t played in months, and only logged into the launcher to give d1 a spin a few weeks ago.
I see complaining about the changes as an equally fair decision… I doubt they aren’t capable, just that they don’t want to… and paying for the game and playing it entitles them to an opinion on it.
If you don’t like it… you are free to move on from engaging with it… if you are able to do that.
well, they did say that they dont plan on any auction house, or ssf mode.
hah did that as well recently <3
well in the end, different games do different things. Im by no way defending everything blizzard does. I play for as long as i get enjoyment, but i for sure as hell know that they wont design the game around my desires.
For example, i consider it ridiculous that they are backpaddling a bit on the increased difficulty.
