they probably thought he had to do something or it would look really bad/bias

so they are like okay. sorcs here is a 2% base damage increase on the basic skill that you still wont use!

if it was up to them they probably wont make ANY changes to sorc

im telling you, they only gauge class popularity

if you class is popular it must be strong and doesnt need changes
and
ā€œif we make this class stronger it will become even more popularā€ so buff the least popular classes only

I love how when they nerf something, itā€™s a change like going from 100% to 30%. Then when itā€™s finally time to buff, it goes from 30% to 32%. Thanks Bliz!

look on the bright side, at least the hotkeys will most likely retain and you will not have to get used to new muscle memory of pressing new spells

if this was a monthly paid subscription game like WoW they would have made some real changes
but they already got their $70 out of youā€¦ so they dont care. dont like your class roll another class
thats their mentality

charged bolt is sure gonna become so op so the point that when it comes into contact with a trash mob, theyā€™re gonna get exploded.

I think itā€™s obvious they could only do a numbers pass rather than do fundamental redesign for this patch. They should have been more aggressive buffing underused skills, but I think the main point of the patch was to make NM dungeons more rewarding and provide some buffs.

Hopefully there is something more mechanically substantial before S1 hits. And who knows, maybe some of the buffs may lead to a couple new builds. But the survivability problem hasnā€™t been solved, but the blizzard aspect defense buff is pretty good.

All the buffs are cool but I was really hoping to see vulnerable applied in ways other than frost. Until then I donā€™t want to play a sorc.

you do have a change for that actually  30-40% is a very huge adjustment, I can predict sorcs are gonna spam ice blades after the patch

Ice Blades

  • Chance to apply Vulnerable increased from 30% to 40%.

LMAO, Freezing Wake I was wondering what that skill is. Then I googled and realized thats the skill when you get off the horse. LMAO, I think I should ride horse more! And somehow bring my horse to the NMD!

And they will chase things at their pathetically slow rate and never hitting anything, just like before.

You ever actually use ice blades or nah?

nope, Iā€™ve never tried that out before actually but 30-40 is 10% increment, I bet the skill will destroy all the mobs now  probably even before the vulnerable status is applied, the mobs would be dead on the ground

This patch is a complete joke for sorcs.

I wonder if the changes are enough for frozen orb build.

Frozen Orb

  • Initial base damage increased from 32% to 36%.
  • Explosion base damage increased from 29% to 34%.
  • Greater Frozen Orb chance to apply Vulnerable increased from 25% to 30%.

Blizzard got two buffs.

Blizzard

  • Base damage increased from 120% to 130%.

Snowguardā€™s

  • Damage Reduction increased from 10-15% to 20-25%.

In summary not OP buff people wanted, but modest ones. Which I think is better on the long run, I suspect season 1 will bring further buff to under-performing skills.

Any lightning or/and cackling energy experts on those changes, cackling energy got 33% buff.

Nobody is going to play a sorcerer in season 1 if this is the substance of what they are doing for the class.

Ok now we know youā€™re trolling lol.

I guess most S0 sorcs will roll necro in S1 :joy:

I had 170% conjuration damage boost, 80% frost damage boost, and ice blades do less than my arc lash white hit for white hit. And they swing slow, move slow, and hit single target.

The only thing ice blades are worth a damn for is proccing frost nova via the frost nova enchant.
