So i am looking at this. I lightbulb clicked armor contributes to Physical damage and bleeds. Non Physical however is only give partial and is the stat below armor contribution.
For me this is 50% rn.
Okay so then we have 50% remaining per elemental resistance right? So for Fire for this example we have 27.3 %
Now this is where my head is getting funky with my understanding.
In the floating box it says 13% resist to fire and burn. so where is 27 coming from the armor contribution ? to get 27%
It also says when this stat increases it becomes less effective. What does the mean?
I am not a wizard at math so this sounds like stereo instructions to me.
What do you make of it?
Armor is providing 50% of damage resistance to all elements.
That is why you see 13% or 27%.
Unfortunatly elemental resistances are in a bad state to be considered.
Every other way of damage reduction is providing a much better defense investment.
It becomes less effective literally says, what it does.
Adding 5% elemental resistance will make 0%+5% = 5%
Adding further 5% elemental resistance will make 5%+5%-(whatever the higher you go)= less than 10%
Not being rude i dont understand…
SO i got naked , Amor contribution is still 50%…so idk what this means, is it
a calculation so 50% of my armor value x is added to my total elemental resist?
So 50% of 125 should give me 4.1 percent and that total = 8.3 percent…?
So i am guessing these have a cap where additional things like elixirs no longer use the full 15% or at some point…
Edit: blah idk it makes no sense… i add armor nothing changes lol
Im lost on this…613 is half my armor but counts for nothing on the resistance percentage…so 613 means nothing?
All fair questions and no offense registered, Blizzard just put it in the most confusing way they could.
Elemental resistance is formed by
- your stats, intelligence will provide it to a certain amount
- rings and amulett have it naturally
- all gear that has attributes of elemental resitance
- paragon system
All of this is added, but the higher you go, the less is every point worth.
I am currently sitting at 50% cold resistance, I add a paragon point worth of +6% and end up at 53% (makes me assume the value decreases by the lot I have? 50% of 6% is 3%).
I add another 24% and now its 64.4%, if the previous assumption was correct it would have been 65.7% so its even less at this point and likely more at an earlier point.
Some people who care surely can do the math.
Second part, armor contribution.
Elemental resistance is x%
Elemental damage reductions is x/2% because Blizzard says “half of the damage reduction is provided by armor” when actually half of the resistance only is account for damage reduction and armor provides an unknown amount of protection.
okay so yeah this is correct then, there is no registered calculation given to us adding the 50% of armor in my case 613 is that number base plus i item halved.
All elemental resistance stay as if armor is base value, Is this the known resistances issue?
This would actually explain the issue i am having…armor is way high and serves no real world purpose to elements…Intelligence on the other hand boosted it a lot.
Sad, but working this out is better than saying game is bad…hope they fix them soon.
