I have many many of each of the summoning materials for Varshan except for malignant hearts… cant seem to get one to drop from anything… not from whisper caches from the tree, nor any of the grotesque elites that spawn after Legion or World Boss events… so is it just bad RNG luck or is something wrong with them dropping…
hmm maybe its bad luck, i mean, i can hand you some if you need em, i dont need anything from varshan anymore

Which world tier are you on? Malignant Hearts only drop on WT4.

I am playing in WT4.
It’s possible you’re hitting a string of bad RNG then. I suspect a lot of players are actually, as I’ve seen relatively few malignant hearts from their associated sources in the last week. It’s entirely possible Blizzard did something with the drop rate, either intentionally or unintentionally. Ever since the last patch though, very few hearts have dropped and I’m sourcing a metric crapton of the other materials vs. hearts just like you are.
i only get them from world bosses, and have still be getting them from world bosses, but the numbers have dried up a bit. used to be 2-3, now its 1 or none.
My hearts are pretty close to similar with all other mats. I have a small surplus of other mats but hearts aren’t way behind. Sometimes I actually have to transmute other mats into different forms because a particular one runs out first. Seems to be normal rng.
I have mostly hearts.
What i am short on is hands….and sometimes femurs. Heads and hearts i have plenty of.
It’s just RNGsus being RNGsus.
You can transmute heads into the other two (and vice versa) for nearly free. You can also transmute hearts into one of the other 3 but that’s a one-way road and since hearts tend to be a bit more rare it’s not ideal.
