Ok. Tempering needs to go

Over four days now every GA Item I’ve got dropped, around 12 or more Items now, and was good or decent for me has got Bricked. Couldn’t get at least one of the Tempers I needed.

I’m tired of this slot machine mechanic.

I came back this Season after a year and I like playing, some different Class buffs would be cool but this Tempering is just not it.

We already have Enchanting. I like Enchanting because I just spend stuff and eventually I get what I want. No big deal. Because my one good Item does not turn to crap.

So why can’t we just get a lucky drop and then spend our Resources in Enchanting if we need to and then go straight to Master Working?

well, you might be disappointed then cause tempering is clearly here to stay.

Well, they want feedback. They got it.

They’ll want feedback when the PTR hits and people actually play it. Anything before the PTR, especially on a weekend, they’re not really paying much attention to. They just see another complaint toward the system and they add it to the pile.

Realistically speaking I don’t see them removing the Tempering system entirely. Tweak it sure, but remove it? Is this your first Blizzard game?

Telling them to remove an entire mechanic that’s a core part of the game because you’ve had bad luck isn’t feedback. Unless you’re a Karen.

They want feedback not brain dead takes.

adding damage on Tuesdays to a slot machine that no one asked for isnt?

dont think anyone asked for this system

i would of much preferred Runes that you can slot onto gear that adds a affix and you can temper that affix like Master working by making it stronger

i dont want Diablo immortal system in D4

I must have missed the memo where developers are supposed to ask the players for permission before adding something to their game

am just saying they could remove this just as fast as they added it!

they even stated in the campfire chat that! tempering isnt what they envisioned!

and big changing to this system is coming!

i won’t be surprised if they just get rid of temper rolls altogether and lowering some of these values down making it a minor upgrade then a major upgrade affix

Tempering is a pretty bad mini game. The previous itemization system was so bad that literally anything they gave us would be better. It ends up being a whole lot of grinding for a whole lot of frustration and when something does work out in your favor it’s usually just another damage multiplier.

It’s all very vanilla if you ask me, but even vanilla ice cream tastes better than the popsicles made of dirty water and pocket lint they were serving us before.

That’s not what he said now is it? He said no one asked for it. Absolutely nothing about permission. It seems the new thing is, insert what ever I want you to have said and or mean. As the actual statement, and now it is fact.

You might be surprised to find. Companies giving customers what they want, usually makes them money. If this was P2P. I wouldn’t be here.

As it is now I’m just trying to get my 100 bucks worth, since I dropped the game in season one. And I am finding it hard to do.

It’s called reading between the lines and having common sense. He said nobody asked for this system; ergo, Blizzard should ask for permission before adding a system. What else is it supposed to mean? He doesn’t have to say Blizzard needs permission to imply that they do. Of course saying it like that makes you look like a delusional clown so most people won’t.

I applaud you, Wildwolf. You managed to get all the shills attacking you with one post.

Yeah, tempering is not a great system. Master working is a pretty great one, in contrast. But these devs have to figure out how to make the item system good and then they’ve got a ton of other stuff to get through. Not gonna happen by October and definitely will become more unbalanced with each change.

Personally, I got to 100, Masterworked a bit and now I uninstalled from my SSD so I could move Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree to a faster drive (yes I’m poorish). I don’t think I’ll be playing D4 for a while. I’ll tune in a few weeks after the expansion to see how it’s going. I’m not holding my breath though. We got this game a year ago. Maybe in another year, they will have figured out more.

if they dont do better with it game stats and profits will go down. at that point share holders will get upset. best thing to do if not happy is dont play it

Your issue is more the bricking feature of tempering by having the cap, its clear they want bricking to stay as part of tempering.

Not because something does not work for you means it will be for everyone else. I for one, is having a blast if I am going to be successful on my next tempering roll. The thrill and adrenaline it gives is just so much fun and finally the satisfaction you will get once you get what you need.

I’m sorry to hear that you have not been successful with 12 or more items on your last temper run. If it has been affecting you to get you to the point of frustration, maybe rest and try again some other time. This is a game, and a game needs some kind of retention and re-playability. And this has been working well for me.

It use to be called lying.

That’s where selective perception comes in. He could mean. I didn’t ask for this. Why did you give it to me? Not Hey !@$%@^$%*!. Why didn’t you ask my permission first.

This is where. I say this is what you meant, and not that, end of story. And now what I said is fact, comes into play

That’s the same thing. I didn’t ask for this = you should ask for my permission first. There is no other meaning. Play all the mental gymnastics you want.

That’s a hoot. Nice insult too.

There seem to be lots of both good and bad experiences. Mine has also been bad this season. The RNG has not been kind in any aspect of this game for me this season. Not tempering, not master working, not uber unique farming, not even regular unique farming.

I am hundreds of hours into the season now and still waiting for the scales to come back a bit to my favor. The luck has to even out right? When it’s this poor even the good drops don’t feel good and they feel more like a relief. I’m on character number 6 now nearing the end of another iron wolves questline to get my 8th speak to make my second Uber. All I can think is that I can’t wait for this to be over.

Same thing happened some 50-60 runs into lord zir trying to get the Yen’s blessing boots. When the drop finally came it wasn’t exciting, I was just glad it was over. Currently grinding out the hell hammer on beast in ice and feeling the same way after getting fields of crimson and frost burn more than a dozen times each. I will be glad when that’s over too.

For some of us the quantity of grind far exceeds the quality of the rewards. Meanwhile on the other hand some of you are debating whether you should take the 2GA unique with a maxed power or the 3GA unique that has 1% off the max value. I could only wish I had that luxury. I’m sure when the item does drop it will have minimum rolls and no GA’s anyway.

But at least that grind will be over…
