Ok sorcs what build are you going with!

I had been using Blood Boiling aspect and stacking defense to stay alive long enough to proc enough blood drops to vaporize the screen which had me clearing t2 Cap around L21-23 and T3 around 30-35 after 1 T1 horde. All in all I was getting to T4 in about 30-45 min, and to 80 in T2/3 hordes in another hour or so.

In the 2.0 PTR this no longer works because blood boiling aspect has been dramatically scaled for low level chars.

Wondering if you got a chance to test this setup in the PTR? if so did it hold up?

Sincerely,
LookingForaFastLvlingStratForS6

Something lightning and or crackling energy related

guessing you never heard of Mekuna or Roxy and donā€™t know sorc holds the highest pit clears in both S4 and S5?

And CL and LS sorcs are the 2 fastest clears of 100 in the 2.0 PTR as well afaik

I finally crafted the ultimate 2GA GG staff yesterday. I couldnā€™t find 3GA, but the 2GA Staff had max rolled Crit Damage and Lightning Spear tempers. I proceeded to start my first T8 after only farming T7ā€™s expecting to crush the content.

To my surprise I was very confused. First I was doing almost no damage. Second the aether balls looked darker and didnā€™t add to my count but did cause some aoe exploison. What kind of odd bug was going on? Turned out I forgot to imprint the staff and the original aspect it dropped with was the blood boiling aspect.

hahaha! I did this twice in PTR. After upgrading my staff Iā€™d go into PIT expecting to push new tiers and then not be able to kill anything in the last tier I had completed.

The first time I was confused and thought I had accidentally unequipped something or skills somehow got reset or broken. the second time I knew immediately what I had done and just felt dumb lol.

Errr not, playing OP spiritbornā€¦ maybe sorc at end of season with big meteors.

Probably wont be, the game is trash and all these ā€˜big changesā€™ are recycled content.

Blizz views its playerbase with contempt.

I was a sorc main, and im not changing to SB cause he is op or anything, im changing to SB cause Sorc is completeley the same in s6 then it was in s5. Familiar adds nothing and is trash including the new unique accompany it. Enchant rework did not happen. And it get absolutely nothing new beside the runewords and some passives.

On Sb everything is combinable with each other, it screams synergy. Sorc is just not for me anymore, it became even simpler with the Paragon rework.

Agree, they need to rework the enchants pretty badly, its been overdue since release for some skills. Others were ok till they removed capability (firebolt lucky hits/multiple teleport adjustments).

Let us know what its like playing a kit with good synergy :frowning:

We need an enchant rework desperately. Until then weā€™ll all go on using the same five or six enchantments that are actually any good while ignoring the rest and coveting those extra weapon slots that Barbs get.

I like to mix things so I will repeat the same build as S5: Chain Lighting + Lighting Spear + Familiar. Because its the best build ? No, because its fun as hell and I can reach PIT 100. Enough for me.,

So even in this short season I ended up with 6 lvl 100 sorcs and currently leveling #7

In s5 I currently have:

  • Homebrew FO/Hydra Andy/doombringer/frost burn/Iceheart ā† this one is super fun!!! and with EVERYONE using staff in S5 1h and focus have been easier to come by
  • Homebrew CL recently transitioned to Roxtricity because itā€™s just better
  • Rox Omnium ā† Damn this thing is cool
  • Mekuna LS ā† Go to Heavy hitter for t8 farming and pit pushing
  • Mekuna Fireball <ā€“Fun but T8 and pit challenged
  • Mekuna CL ā† serious power issues I canā€™t do much beyond Helltide farming and lower horde with this. not sure if its the build or my gear not being perfect but meh

currently leveling one Iā€™m planning to make a Roxy Ball Lighting

For S6 I will likely start out as FO/Hydra for leveling because I know it well and could build it blindfoldedā€¦ unless I get an early drop that sends me in a different direction.

Endgame? not sure yet. I do really like FO/Hydra but Iā€™ve been playing it for 2 seasons. Iā€™m hoping something new and interesting that can do most content will present itself. I will as usual make one of whatever the strongest sorc is for high end farm / carries (unless balance is better, and I can do those things on my favorite build)

after seeing all the nerfsā€¦ the skip this season buildā€¦

For leveling Iā€™m likely to go with FO/Hydra again just because I know it inside out and I could build/play it in my sleep lol.

For endgameā€¦ not sure yet but I know it will be using this:

Aspect of Elemental Constellation

  • Damage increased to 50-1050% Weapon Damage from 50-70%.

Going with the Tuah Hydra build or firebolt. Fun builds for me. I may try sb at some point just sh**s and giggles.

I may make an SB just to farm some bosses. Get one nice sellable Class specific GA unique for SB and you will likely be set on gold for the season lol. With the overwhelming majority of people that will be playing them, if you thought TalRasha and Winterglass were expensive in S5 you ainā€™t seen nothing till you see what a 2+GA for SB is going to cost lol.

I actually thought that was a typo and should have been 50-100%. I was still going to use it even then but if itā€™s 1050% then :joy:

yeah I fully thought that was a typo when i saw it in the notes but several people are saying it is confirmed accurate. I guess we will find out in a couple days.

Maybe their way of saying ā€œSorry Sorcs, you know we had to nerf this, but since you have been so gimp for so long here is a Constellation prizeā€ lol

Edited to appropriately misspell consolationā€¦

Leveling as Incinerate, I think. End-game will depend on what drops I get. Frozen Orb or Ice Spike, probably.

Been digging into possible builds and such.

A lot of guides are thinking LS is still a contender, even after the 2.02 patch. Iā€™m not sure I am convinced, but itā€™s not dead and gone.

More to my line of thinking, Elemental Constellation is looking strong. Again, the guides on Maxroll appear significantly out of date, mentioning using Unstable Currents to ā€œcheatā€ out free spells to stack buffs, however, this was changed in 2.02 as well, as the wording was changed to ā€œunleashā€, not ā€œcastā€, which is a key mechanic change. Fun police at is again, nerfing our only viable ultimate spell.

Since ā€œXol + TONā€ (Forbidden Inferno) is a thing, that might potentially give 6+ stacks of Meteor, or at least +600% more damage to Fire Daggers, Iā€™m thinking this is the way to go. I tried to yank this up even higher by taking advantage of a meteor build, but this doesnā€™t seem to work, despite the improvements to Meteor (lands more often on enemies, double meteor damage temper, working with Elementalist Aspect, Buffed Shattered Stars aspect). Meteor is still in a tricky spot, with the loss of a powerful mythical helm slot. If Starfall Coronet was on an offhand, and you could use a mythical helm too, howeverā€¦

Fireball or Hydra seems to be the next most logical candidate. Fireball (with staff and gloves) + Constellation on amulet is potentially very strong, and Hydra + Familiar enchantment with Conjuration Mastery is another crowd-pleaser.

Potentially, Ice Spike could even work, if we can sustain the mana without Starless Skies, as we would have to use Blue Rose.

I wish I knew how some of the mechanics are going to function; like will ā€œForbidden Infernoā€ work with +meteorite (Double damage) weapon temper? How about Aspect of Armageddon and Aspect of Shattered Stars? Will Forbidden Inferno ā€œSeeā€ those? Meteors (at least 6) will potentially be hitting for 500% weapon damage each at this point, plus boosting Elemental Constellation to +600% (minimum) itself.
