Oh wow, another channeling skill

Playing with Lightning Storm wasn’t bad enough, but Stone Burst sounds even worse. Having to stand still? When was that ever good?

I hope the skill at least releases automatically and recasts. Otherwise it’s gonna be really annoying having to manually time the 1 second to not lose damage.

Don’t worry, a year from now it’ll scale with attack speed!

i don’t know why they don’t add the fire skills from d2, armageddon, volcano, fissure, etc. I guess they don’t want us to be too similar to sorcs but i feel like those skills are distinctive enough.

precisely.

i mean they at least tried to invent a new skill, but i’d be surprised if it isn’t super clunky to play.

I think that was their logic but… 1) fire skills were already established in d2 as being part of our lore and 2) why give us sorc style lightning spells, which weren’t part of our kit from d2?

I think this was mostly a decision by people that heard the word “druid” and associated it with wow or dnd druid, which is not accurate. Druid in d2 was unique in that it was a mix between shaman+druid archetypes, with a lot of influence from both celtic and proto-germanic cultures. It really was its own thing, its uniqueness should have been preserved

totally agree with you here, maybe in the future or if we whine enough they may change it and add some fire to it.

Why are we even getting this skill? What does this do that we don’t already do? What’s the point of this? What problems with the class does this solve?

Doesnt the 1 aspect essentially just make it another landslide cast if at 75+ spirit?

I don’t know about that one. I think I know why they added it (to give you a skill to spam for more passive builds like rabies or companions because God forbid you sit there without mashing buttons for a second, even still, it really wasn’t a problem), but all of it could have just been a minor node change for like…lightning storm. Or maybe change one of the useless passive fortify skills no one takes. It shouldn’t have been a new skill, it shouldn’t have been a nature magic skill, and it definitely shouldn’t have been a core skill.

If we’re counting aspects, that’s now our 4th earth core skill.

it really is very similar to landslide.

4th? what am i missing? Landslide, Boulder w/aspect, and now this

Pulverize with ursine horror

ah ok, i was thinking actual earth skill not just the tag

The tag is what makes it an actual earth skill. That’s how a tag system works.

keep in mind, channeled skills cannot overpower. They also do not trigger Nature’s Fury beyond the first button push, if that is your cup of tea.

It’s a pile of garbage.

It’s worse than LS. At least with LS you can move around a bit, as the channel charge has a grace period.

Plus it’s terrible for proccing stuff, yes. All the good Druid builds are about proccing something.
