Offline D4 for Console but not PC?

With offline i mean SinglePlayer, in an empty world, no MMO BS!
So you can play offline alone D4, but not with a PC? Why are PC-Gamers forced to play MMO style, while Console-Players are forced to play offline without a subscrition service? My friend really likes to play in a style similar to D3 and is only willing to buy it if it has an offline mode to just play with friends and none more. This problem needs way more attention to get them to change something, because i believe they will do nothing in that regard.

You can’t play offline/single player on console either unfortunately.

Phantomblade is correct. There is no offline for D4 on any platform. It is 100% online and you will see other players in town, and on occasion in the wider world.

If your friend wishes to play with you though, PC and Console can play together in D4.

Not really, since it’s not a problem. There’s no reason to do anything. They put in work and made many design decisions. They aren’t going to change it because someone whines about seeing other players.

No you can’t.

Umm…They can’t play offline.

Welp, guess they aren’t buying it.

Or people can accept that the game lacks an offline mode. Wild how people seem to think they can force developers to dance like puppets.

And you would be correct, because it’s not a problem to be addressed.
It’s only a ā€˜problem’ to people entitled enough to think they can dictate how a game is made.

Offline console play would make modding possible in D4 just like how D3 was filled with modders and cheaters on console. There is no way Blizzard is going to allow cheating on that level with cross-play.

If there was an offline mode for D4, I would play on the Xbox instead.

Yeah tell me another one

You only have to sign on once a week for ā€œonlineā€ mode on Switch.

D3 In fact did have an offline mode on consoles. It was what lead to seasons being born. Consoles were plagued with the cheating and modding, that was then transferable to PS4. You could use a save editor on PS3 to mod all your gear or even create gear outside of game parameters, then transfer your save to PS4.

To combat this Blizzard started doing seasons on PS4 and ended support on PS3. If they did an offline mode for any console now, it would just lead to this plaguing all versions of the game as now we have a cross platform shared world, that anybody on any platform connects to.

The solution that most players have come up with is to simply stop playing with strangers, since there’s no way to guarantee you won’t end up with a cheater.

That’s not a good solution.

One big difference between the two versions is the Internet connection requirement. You absolutely need one to play Diablo III on PC, which caused all sorts of problems in the game’s early days. You don’t need one on the consoles.

Literally a 5 second Google search would’ve told you D3 had offline on console from launch :man_facepalming:

How embarrassing for you…

Your entire argument here is the equivalent of ā€œI want to play Call of Duty, but I don’t like shooters. They should make it more like Final Fantasy instead!ā€

If you or ā€œyour friendā€ don’t want to play an online ARPG, then go play a different game. Stop asking for a company to change a core component of a game just because you want something entirely different.

True the co. made design decisions, but I won’t be buying this one…private offline play during the little time I have away from ā€œlifeā€ was something I always enjoyed with this franchise but no more.
I don’t understand why something that has been a feature known to be used was taken away. ( other than the below potential )
offline private play seams to looked down on by the co. leaders due to an inability to ā€œmonitorā€ and "advertise and Market "in real time.
I can already hear the video game market is a business speeches firing up…
If I don’t enjoy it , I don’t buy it
video games … games… you know toys that are fun

too much pushing into the ā€œnew marketā€ … unnamed crime mmo #6 made soo much money that it blinded co. leaderships to anything not printed in green

Because PC piracy is running rampart for ages and people don’t like denuvo, we brought this on ourselves. (I mean, if it would be the case, but it aint the case in the first place anyway)

Sadly, they force onlone play on Xbox as well. I’ve made several complaints.

F Blizzard for this

Sincerely,
Everyone not brainwashed by Blizzards propaganda.

The reason there is no offline mode is because of pc gamers. They like to character edit and cheat. Its the best thing for console users who enjoy pvp since its cross platform.

Im on ps5 and i too believe there should be offline play.

Unfortunately, the best way to keep cheaters in check is to keep the character data on bizzards servers. That way, when the pc users break out their hex editors, if the data don’t match, the character is broken.

Back to your friend, let him know when in the pvp area, you have to use a action wheel to set you self avaliable for pvp. You have private loot, allthough in the pvp zone there is a special currency that is whoever grabs it fist, but your loot is your loot. Things dissappear but there on auto collect.
