Offline Console Mode

Enjoyed my time Saturday and Sunday. Friday was a nightmare 8 hours total in que. That said i dont see a reason why consoles cant have an offline mode to completely evade that issue.

On pc i see why not since you can edit files and cheat your but off. Probably why people want loot thats not Bop or BoE or BoA.

I cant see any down side to this long as we hit the splash page check for updates ect.

Why not allow offline play to allow those online to get some server stability not sitting in queue for 8 hours. Then maybe we could also merge onto online and you guys can keep your avg server support level.

I strongly suggest this because ive not seen a single company actually provide whats actually needed durring a free beta try out not to mention full launch.

Stupid 2 hr ques and random crashes that force player back into those ques bring bad responses toxicity and unnecessary negativity posted on socials as this games sucks because xyz.

I like this game alot my whole family will play we have 5 consoles. So i say Blizzard do your selves a favor and make offline play a viable option and reap some of that good will for doing so while saving some server cost at the same time!

Thanks all for reading hope im not alone in this view

You can cheat on consoles as well… by using a simple program to edit files. D3 had alot of cheaters on ps4.

Regardless, we had offline modes for both console and pc. simply put there should be two modes period. offline mode, where only online capability is playing co op with friends.

And main online server. where you cant bring offline characters into it. And are stored server side.

Client side saves seems like a good compromise. But i bet less than 1% of console guys could can or even would bother with the bull dookie it would take to edit a console file somehow.

As stated there was alot. editing loot, gems and the such. and passing them out, exp gem where ya kill one thing you’re max level and paragon 100+

Either way as stated. offline mode with friends only mode. and an online mode. works fine enough.

it is 100% easier to cheat on a console then it is on a pc lol

Both are done with simple programs mate. and both are done on a pc…with that program.
The process can actually lengthier for console. considering you have to take save file from console put on a usb, bring to pc, edit file. save file put back on usb, then onto your console.

Bro the game was built to be online, it’s not gonna change since it’s something fundamentally built in the game, goes from avoiding cheaters to specific regions that without online they don’t make sense (pvp map ex). It’s like PoE, you can’t imagine it offline.

Not to mention trade system, world chat etc

GEEE… lets see… what other game had that… and still had an offline mode… oh wait… diablo 2 and 3.

Meant to hit reply to the your post directly above, about world chat, and trading.

All this says is the devs are too lazy or don’t know how to make a game where this isn’t possible. It shouldn’t be POSSIBLE to make exp gems that do these things if they don’t have a mechanism to exist in the game already. It wouldn’t be possible to edit character info, especially for server stored characters at all. If they’re stupid enough to give the control to the client files that is on them. It’s idiotic to hog tie 15 million players continuously just because they can’t study a few courses on secure game design principles.

In what world did you live where offline Diablo 3 was a success? It’s a hacking nightmare that made the PC side look tame. Console MUST have saves stored on the server. Otherwise, it just more of the cheating insanity.

In what world you think a offline game, anyone, can’t be hacked? There’s no limitations regarding cheating, it will always be possible, that’s the reason every year most online segments spends billions in anti cheat technology.

I had alot of fun in offline diablo 3. Who cares if there was people hacking their characters. We didnt have to enter games with them. We chose to play with our friends.

Who gives a bleep if there is more cheating, as long as it cant be carried to official online mode for those playing online.

Fact is an offline mode is needed. Tbh this has ruined a portion of d4 life for me. theres no way im doing what ive done since 2. play HC mode. one little hiccup from net, and boom dead character. and there was a good bit of lag/stuttering and rubber banding on the beta test.

You may want to read my other posts.

I dont disagree with you, I was explaining how they cheated on console and pc. Fact though, they couldnt do anything to stop the offline cheating, And who cares. as long as it stays in the offline mode, and you have ability to choose not to play with people using those items, its all good.

Maybe offline D3 is fun for some people, but it’s definitely no fun for all players who want to participate in competitive aspects like leaderboards. Offline mode with separate characters (without the ability to bring them online) for couch Co-op with no competitive components at all, hell yeah go for it, if you like that kind of gaming in a seasonal based arpg. But please do not even think about bringing any kind of offline characters, items whatsoever into the online version.

Why i said offline mode characters stay client side. I didnt expect that console cheating was a thing i just want to play with my 3 kiddos with out ques or subjecting them to online communities issues. I see everyones points on the exploiting of game files. I would think people wouldn’t want to ruin the game for themselves but i know there are fast food players everywhere.

I dont see a reason why a offline mode cant be a successful experience though for D4. Probably not hard to segment a offline character vs a server stored online character.

Offline mode has been great for me, since d2. Simple fact. I always played hardcore. and we all know how Internet connections can have hiccups and such. (beta here rubber banded me back and forth and im on 200mb cable, direct cat8 ethernet connected to ps5) So one rubber band, and boom death happens.

I get where you are coming from but I just don’t see a 100% offline mode in this game right now. Just think about it, it’s not like flipping over a switch from online to offline. Right now the software is build to store its data on a server, changing this would mean to change serious core development points. This simply isn’t a small change for the devs, it would mean to build up an entire new structure to store and load the data. In a lot of software projects such a change could take months to realize.

I feel for the people who want offline, but there’s pretty much a zero percent chance it happens.

100% fact that you can’t edit your save on Xbox consoles.

You would have to hack console first to get encryption keys. Which is something nobody has managed to do so far.
