Now that they fixed temerity

Since they fixed (I checked and I get 12.1k barrier now), wouldn’t BiS helm be you get 10 lucky hit chance with a barrier? This would allow to drop lucky hit on 1 or 2 rings, for extra life for example or resource generation? so you’d go like cc, cd, vuln + life / resource generation?

If DR loss from (18%) core, 7.2% armor, (19%) poisoned worth it though?

for 90+ when you can get 1 shotted by random things, seems like barrier could really help. Thoughts?

I’ve been running Temerity with the Aspect that lets attacks on vulnerable enemies drop potions. I’m swimming in potions in most fights, so my potion basically becomes a pretty potent, constantly regenerating barrier. It’s rare I don’t have barrier up in a fight; if I don’t, I’m either fighting trivial stuff or I’m in way over my head and will be scrambling to escape lol.

It’s great against one-shot DPS and DoTs, as the barrier eats the burst, and then the potion heals up the DoT, and you just keep spamming them.

what nmd’s levels are you running?

I just did 80 and 90 and 100, with temerity, HUGE difference… massive damage taken, no matter of the fortify (it was 17k life and 14k fortify).

I don’t get Fortify as a Rogue - I use the excess healing from Potions to get a barrier. I’m only on like level 40-45 NMs though, so my insights might not be useful at higher levels.

BiS pants is still DR but I welcome the change. People can use Temerity until they find those BiS pants.

On the other hand, Temerity may still be good for PVP. You can’t be poison if you have barrier. Not sure if it has changed. I haven’t tested it since the patch.

Pre-siphoning nerf it probably would’ve been a contender for BiS. Idk anymore. I guess it’s a nice way to reliably have a barrier on a rogue considering all of our items seem to constantly roll barrier mods now at higher rates than anything else for some stupid af reason.

Temerity is a good stand by until you get BiS DR pants.

Does barrier blocks getting hit with CC?

It used to stop vuln and poison, but they changed it… However idk if they changed it for monster damage or just player damage.

We have made multiple improvements on how damage and other effects interact with active barriers.
Bonus damage or bonus effects that are applied on-hit or when dealing damage will now apply that same effect through barriers.
Ex: The Exploit Paragon Glyph will now apply Vulnerable to enemies that have an active barrier.

Which pants are BiS for DR?

Anything with damage reduction, damage reduction with x, total armor and health based on your other gears setup.

temerity is unfortunately still not worth using, its quite a bit better than it was, but its still not worth it to drop a defensive aspect+defensive stats its just not on par, even if you build around it.

A crucial part that is missing is armor. Its such a necessary stat, that its a shame that we basically have to almost go all out on this for higher NM dungeons.

However its very viable in low to mid content and speedbuilds…

I also feel that temerity makes me squishier when compared to my DR and armour pants. Once the barrier is gone, my health starts going crazy.

There is one build where its viable, but is so gear dependant that no one is going to run it, until they have every single piece 4/4 perfect rolls.

Ive been dicking around with it, trying to break a couple of interactions, but for you average player, its not going to be worth investing in. It also pigeon holes you into not using some of the more fun aspects for rogue.

Ok so i had a max roll on an 800 ip item that gave me 497hp (in necklace) per stack of momentum
So having 3 stacks (easy) is close to 1,500 hp per second

So i tried out the old temerity (havent had a new one drop yet)

Its a mixed bag. In low level NM dungeons (tier 60-70) it seems godly

But when pushing 85+ i think i might perfer just regular pants with 4/4 defensive modifiers
Also, my pants are where i stick disobedience so i really felt the lack of armor in high tier NM

Now, my temerity is the old version and its only 48%, so i will reserve judgement until i get it to drop again

Currently level 96 and it seems every level up they give me a ton of hp, so i expect it to be good

But my armor dropped from ~9550 to ~9100 and with no disbedience and the loss of a ton of DR was really felt on the high level when enemies hit hard

There is a lesson learned from my eternal Sorc character, barriers suck unless you have the defense to back it up
