Now that seasons launched

Hello,

I’m curious now that seasons launched, does the progress you make on your non-season character transfer over to your season character after seasons have launched? Let’s say I find a new Statue of Lilith on my nonseason character, will the progress transfer when I am ready to create a new season character, same with renown?

You need to login with your non seasonal character and then it will update. I think eternal realm stuff only carries over for new eternal realm characters, and hardcore character progress only carries over for new hard core characters.

So If I continue playing my nonseasonal character till I beat the story/unlock all the rest of the Alters, and so on, when I am ready to start a season character, that progress (even after seasons have already started) will transfer over then when I am ready?

I never finished the story/unlocked everything before seasons started because my schedule is very strict.

Yeah I think so, but they have to be the same character type. IE the eternal character progress wont affect a new hardcore character, but will affect a new eternal character.

So my new season character has to be the same class (me being a necromancer) in order for eternal character progress to transfer over?

No, it does not have to be the same class. Eternal vs Hardcore. When an Eternal Character dies they get teleported back to town and can keep playing. When a Hardcore character dies it is permanent and you have to make a new character. You choose Eternal or Hardcore when making a new character

No, I understand that, what I was confused about is the progress I made on my Eternal character (Alters, renown, etc) will be transferred over to my Seasons character, I thought you meant that that progress won’t be transferred over to for example a Barb if I decide to make a new seasons character.

Yes it will transfer to your seasonal character when you create it.

Even new progress I made on my Eternal character after seasons is launched? I’m assuming yes.

Your altars and map discovery only will carry over.
You will have to make a new character in seasonal.

only some stuff carries over. Mostly need to redo the side quests again.

What progress carries over in Diablo 4 Season of the Malignant?

  • Major city waypoints – Upon making a new character, you’ll automatically have Kyovashad, Cerrigar, Gea Kaul, Ked Bardu, and Zarbinzet if you’ve discovered those major city waypoints. Every other waypoint will need to be discovered again.
  • Altars of Lilith – You keep all Altars of Lilith buffs and the Renown you received from all of them, thankfully.
  • Explored map regions – You keep every part of the map that you’ve explored with previous characters.
  • Option to skip the campaign – If you have completed the campaign, then you get an option to skip the campaign for every character you make.
  • Mount – If you have started Act 4 and unlocked the mount with one character, then every character from then on will have access to mounts.
