I’m really torn because I doubt I will find one this season and kind of burnt out already doing/farming Duriel rotas.
Shako and Starless seem like the go-to options for most people.
I’m trying to make Double Swing work and no intention of going Bash.
All my other builds feel so weak; Incinerate and Lightning Storm (altho I don’t want to go back to Druid just to stack a bunch of pets and pet aspects to make casting spells viable).
Been looking at Blight as well, but apparently we need to be in melee for Ebonpiercer to shotgun and do dmg to bosses.
Looking at Blood Lance too but apparently that’s in a bad state.
Basically I don’t want to play Bash or minion necro lol.
Keep your expectations low on how far your build can go in the Pit if you don’t want to go Bash. Granted next season I have no doubt it’ll be toned down, but for now, you can’t beat it.
If you just want to have fun though and enjoy yourself, pick whatever you feel will benefit you more, or that you might possibly use in another build on another character.

Don’t even spend em. Uninstall and save yourself the hairpulling fun of the accursed tempering system.
Hurry up Elden ring DLC.

Shako is pretty much universally good due to DR and +4 to skills. Its a no brainer.

Ya, I’m keeping this in mind for sure, especially since I hate cookie cutter meta builds.
Shako and Bash does seem nutso though.
For now I just kind of struggle through P61 and get the bare min mats, but being more efficient would be great.
I’m leaning towards this, especially since I manage to make/find 2x rings with crit, multi, speed (not sure if we should be stacking main stat on each piece?)
Starless is nice since I sometimes find I have resource issues.

DR is king in the pit. Put everything you can into that and the rest on DPS.

Shako and Starless are the most flexible choices, but they are replaceable.
Grandfather is not, it’s a must in those builds that require it.
Right.
And tbh, if I continue with Double Swing, getting resists on barb is such a pain.
depending on how high you plan to push, no it isnt.
eventually you will ditch all dr just to squeeze the last bit of damage out of your build, this include sacrificing armor cap and resist cap, because you can do a few more % damage
at some point you will die to random hits with max defense, thats just how they envision the pit or endgame.
its kinda messed up, when you first hit 100, you just keep stacking defense then you realized you are dying a lot so you stack defense and you dont die anymore, then you go into pit and realized it doesnt matter what your defense is, you just die, and you go back to stacking defense…lol
See, this is kind of the reason why I stop at P61 now, but I’m sure I can push higher without Bash or minion necro.
Especially with a shako soon.
I dunno… At pit 100-ish I find the DR makes a huge difference. If I were pushing to 130 I might think differently, but that’s always how it goes because at the absolute top end it becomes a race: DPS vs the timer. You have to play risky since the game isn’t tuned to actually make pit 200 possible.
Haha, I just did a nightmare 100 dungeon to finally finish off my glyphs. I got infested tunnels, which I used to avoid like the plague because the poison just annihilates you.
I breezed through the whole thing, just plowing into everything without a care in the world and spamming decrepify / golem while my minions mopped up. I even used a ring of the sacrilegious soul I was so lazy. Never even paused. I doubt I could even run it faster if I used holy bolts… It felt like a walk in the helltide.
I could NEVER do this when I only had 25% DR.
Andarial dropped a ring of starless skies for me and I’m about to have a 4th spark to craft a shako. I Hadn’t done too many Andarial or Duriel runs when the ring dropped.

I am going with Shako first, then Tyraels if I manage to get another 4 sparks.

yeah it honestly is kind of a problem
if you are just farming, DR is absolutely important, you dont want to die when you are farming.
but when you are pushing, you have to give up all defense just to squeeze out that little bit of dps, like you said against the timer.
i wish it isnt timed, so we can play around defensive build, maximizing all defensive mechanism, i love zombie builds man
I use 5/5 Clyclon Armor + its aspect on my druid + 5/5 Bulwark (no aspect) and both of them combined, 14 skills points; feels weaker than just having 3 points used for Roar.
It’s absolutely bonkers how unbalanced some defensives are.
That’s awesome.
Idk what the average amount of runs is for either of them to drop an uber.
I wish they were tradeable.
This sucks. Blizzard should balance the game.
