Blizzard just posted that “everyone” loved having the Butcher spawn at random and kill them without them having a chance to fight back.
Blizzard, once again, has no clue what the players actually think. They’re delusional. Not everyone enjoyed a pointless death due to a troll mob.
It seems that the vast majority liked it…
butcher didnt instant kill my level 13 barb, but he did kill me and i enjoyed our encounter.

i killed it on my sorc easily. My barb didn’t but it was close. that could be a gear and build issue. i had played my sorcerer more.

Killed it on a level 8 barb and then again on a level 10 rogue with ease.
Love the challenge and I hope they add more enemies that pop up like that.

I only saw him once, after I was 25 with a solid set of legendaries - it was hardly memorable. I would have loved to see him earlier and get wiped.
I didn’t have a single struggle until the first world boss spawn, where i got absolutely creamed trying to learn what to do. It was beautiful.
I was woried the game wouldn’t have any challenges. More challenging content is welcomed in my book.

most people seemed to enjoy the surprise. It’s a new type of treasure goblin, one that attacks you. I think that’s cool.
Sounds like you personally struggled and don’t like it… I would have loved seeing the butcher, it’s nostalgia at it’s finest.
I enjoyed him popping up and making me run around like a chicken with my head cut off. I wasn’t expecting it but was worth it when i killed him after a couple of close calls
It was a fun surprise, creative chaos. Hope to see that sort of thing more, same with treasure goblins.

It was fun.
I killed it on my 25 sorceress fairly easily and I killed it on my bleed/thorns barb while I was leveling it also relatively easily since I had a basic idea of what his abilities were that time. This was on veteran world tier 2.
The devs also said the butcher despawns after it kills you or after a certain amount of time so you don’t die 15 times to it if it’s too much for you.
Overall I really liked it and I’m glad they are adding more special rares like that to the game (butcher seems to be the only one for now).

Sorry if you’re too feeble to play properly. Did you know you can lose him in a dungeon if you run away and evade correctly? I killed Butcher solo on first encounter with…the Barbarian that everyone says is “underpowered” bla bla bla. Nah, this is a L2P issue.
