Not enough substantive changes with Season 5, sorry

In all seriousness, tossing a couple more dozen % of damage onto a core skill is not going to balance anything for anyone. It’s a low effort, lazy, and minimalist way to make things more balanced and fun for EVERYBODY.

The problem is not enough abilities get to dip into damage bonuses to ramp it all up for the endgame you guys have given us to play. I mean, except for Barbs and Necros. No hate to them, I’m glad they’re having fun. I’m envious…but not jealous.

Doubling Druid/Sorc core skill damage isn’t going to give us double the damage we are doing. 2 x 1,000,000 is only 2,000,000. You aren’t giving us Uniques and Legendaries enough that amplify the playstyles we all want to enjoy. Druids are by far, by a wide margin, THE LOWEST on the totem pole right now. And would ya look at that: we get the least numberr of new Aspects and Uniques added in Season 5.

What the hell is even that!!! Can we get some halfway decent offensive aspects that aren’t “on a Tuesday”? It’s so tiresome and exhausting at this point. I don’t’ even want to log in…

Personally, I want to play a Meteor spec sorc and have it perform around the same level as a Bash Barb. But you don’t give us the tools and algorithms to do that. Starfall Coronet is ALMOST good for that purpose, but what kind of logic is it that you turn Meteor into a COOLDOWN, and don’t give people anywhere near enough ways to mitigate that so that the build is remotely competent? You don’t give us enough Aspects to ramp up Meteor. Why are you bothering to add an Aspect that makes Inferno summon meteors ‘sometimes’? It’s just so mediocre. Inferno is just the most ridiculous looking and functioning skill to me. I absolutely hate it, seeing people sit int he middle of the blood maiden altar and go 360 over and over and over. Just…Ugh.

I want to play a Human form Druid who spams Tornadoes, has Cataclysm up, does NOT use campanions, and is not shifting into a damn bear or wolf, and performs around the same level as a Bash Barb.

You aren’t going to enable any of that by taking something that does 20,000 base damage and making it 38,000 base damage. Whoopee. We gain a couple Pit levels.

Druid and Sorc need COMPLETE overhauls, with how their skills dip into damage bonuses, how their Paragon nodes amplify that dip, and how their aspects and uniques give affected skills agency and function and ‘style.’

As it stands, if you aren’t a Barb or a Rogue, you are pigeonholed into ONE single “meta” build.

I recently played with what I believe was a Blizzard employee. I am 99% certain he was. We had one other fellow with us. Employee and other guy were both Druids and I was a Bash Barb (what a shock) in Tormented Grigoire and we spammed a few runs of it. They both died in literally every single fight. I never even came close, and just totally carried the runs. I don’t want to say his name, but this should be a massive wakeup call for you guys. Druid PASSIVE skills need major makeovers. Their Key skills need major makeovers.

You have Key skills that affect stunned, immobilized, or knocked back, and vulnerable. The ONLY one of those status effects that’s reliable for us is vulnerable. And what did you do a couple seasons ago? You absolutely gutted vulnerable damage and never added something in to compensate for us. Barbs and rogues do just fine with it…

As it is now, I am pretty bored. All classes to 100. Decked out bash Barb with (most) of my gear 12/12 upgraded. I have to play my Barb if I want to upgrade the other classes’ gear. Is that “OK” to you guys for this to be this way? I’m not a fan of it.

Just tried Season 5 PTR earlier. Not a whole lot has really changed. Even more Barb and Necro love. Why don’t we just delete Druids at this point and be done with it? You’re about to give us a Spiritborn that does Druid better than Druid, anyway, if those leaks are to be believed.

Thank goodness for Shadow of the Erdtree…

yeah it’s feeling pretty sad as a Shred werewolf. I was hoping the “buffs” they made to Shred and allowing 1h swords would help, but even with a Doombringer slapped on, I was hitting like a wet noodle, even went down to an 86 NMD and was still hitting like a wet noodle on the boss, multiple keys. Druids really need some love.

S5 needed a seasonal power.

I’m really starting to wonder what the average work day at blizzard HQ actually looks like.
I find it really hard to see this team working 8 hour days 5 days a week and continually push out mild levels on content, they have zero issues making cosmetics but ask for a decent event and that’s basically twisting their arms too much.
1 (ONE) staff member working on D4 275 days out of 365 calendar year (rough example) will contribute roughly 2200 working hours and what do we get?
S1 Malignant Hearts - Collect hearts to socket into your jewelery (Hearts collected by killing a boss (Removed at the end of Season), currently in S4 most of my classes have no need to gem my RINGS at all. Resistances are easily capped at 70% and armor is easily reached at it’s 9300 cap.
S2 Season of Blood - Kill vampires and get there powers ( much of the powers were really underwhelming and most players used the same powers as everyone else)
S3 Season of Construct - Get a spider pet that can have powers, on launch pet was bad, did nothing. Took some time to make the pet actually do things
S4 Loot Reborn - Removed a lot of affix stuff and made items better but forgot to touch unique items. No actual event of any kind just a loot adjustment 1 year after the launch.
S5 Infernal Hordes - Collect an item to face waves of monsters to increase your materials gained and chances at greater affix gear.
So S1,2 and 3 gave you something to power you up that you can upgrade over time but won’t be apart of the grind in the following seasons and removed from the game
S4 and 5 is just giving you items. The items dropped in S4 will still be acquirable in S5, the items dropped in S5 will still be acquirable in S6
So after lets say 20,000-50,000 hours among the whole D4 team in the last year this is all they have to show for it?
It took 9000 people to create D4 (base game) I dunno what the current staff on a day to day bases looks like but what they are providing is very limited

I would imagine that they are holding any meaningful changes to the game for Vessel of Hatred expansion, to create more of a draw/show for its release.

Just as they are holding out a simple Boss altar respawning after death for S5.
