Non physical damage

i saw sorceror paragon board that gives +5% non physical damage and a glyph that gives +x% non physical damage. are they good?

5% non physical damage = +5% damage to Fire, Cold, Lightning so yeah its good.

is non physical damage as good as critical damage, vulnerable damage?

If we’re talking about the equal values it will be best damage stat in the additive bucket after the update. For anything else it depends on the build.

After the update it will actually be superior. Since Non-physical damage adds all the time if your attacks use elemental damage and crit damage and vulnerable damage only add when those respective conditions apply.

Also, after the update the Frigid Fate Legendary Node will give you up to a 30X multiplier based on +Cold damage which is raised by Non-physical.

I would argue that it’s the best sorcerer stat since launch, especially for sorcerers. A lot of sorcerer players overlooked the stat for some reason but a select few figured out that building up non-physical before any other stat was the way to go. Building up the non-physical allows one to buff and use multiple elements without problem, unlike the other builds which require one to hyper-focus on fire, frost or lightning abilities only depending on the element chosen.

I gravitated toward building non-physical first as I hit paragon I was looking for ways to buff all my conjures and abilities as I was using a mix of elements and aside from conjuring damage which would use all the elements at once boosting non-physical damage seemed to be the best way to go. My first two paragon boards were entirely just to find as many non-physical nodes as possible, after that I went for vulnerable damage which I could guarantee uptime followed by crit damage. The idea was to stack all the damage buckets as they call them. It’s nice to get an overpowered, crit on a vulnerable target with high non-physical damage. Overall I think it’s the best stat and always has been but only now that the clutter is gone it’s more noticeable.

Necro but good observation; building up to a minimum of 300% nonphysical prior to other stats is the play, in my opinion.
