Non-Ancestral Max Aspect but Can't add to Codex

What on earth is the Logic to making it so you can’t add a max aspect from a 750 iLevel item? I get making getting Ancestral hard (forcing people to play longer in a season), I may not agree but I get it. What I don’t agree with is the fact that I get a Max Aspect which are EXTREMELY hard to get yet I cannot add it to my codex only because it is 750.

Feels like after Loot Reborn the whole system is regressing back to the crappy system we had before hand, I’m getting blues and yellows almost twice as much as Legendaries in the Pit and Ancestral drop rate is still much lower than it should be tbh

Just doesn’t make sense

huh? what do you mean. You can salvage non ancestrals normally, and the aspect will get moved to the kodex, with the values it had on the item you salvaged.

like… be a bit more precise. You can salvage that item right? What item / aspect are we talking about?

750 items can have maxed aspects, such as 16 out of 16, but they can be maxed for normal legendaries like 16 out of 21, but 17 to 21 is only for ancestral. The tooltip in the game isn’t really helpful in this regard.

We need more information to see what’s the problem here.

It’s possible that you have a 16/21 aspect, but the tooltip shows max, because it’s not ancestral. When you have a higher value already in your codex, the blacksmith will not show an update.

Exactly, Lughor explained it a little better. I got a full Aspect 750 item which was utterly useless to me but I thought I got the Max Aspect when I salvaged the item which you do not get.

This is absolutely absurd considering how hard it is to get Ancestrals in the first place, let alone the RNG for a Max Aspect and then it be actually useful. If Blizzard continues down this path of time gated gearing where you have very limited control on improving your gear (enchant only one stat) and gated tempering on RNG as well I’m likely just going to pass on this game.

For someone that has at best 2-3 hours a day and more usually 1 hour or so to play this makes it so I will likely never even have a chance of getting anything resembling good gear in a season for one let alone the fact that you are now basically forced to do trading to get anything now which I also can’t farm enough gold for just takes all the joy of playing out of the game.

Guess the Gigachad blasters got their way…

So you didn’t had a max aspect, you just thought you had.
You can play with a normal one, but I agree that it is frustrating how low your chances of updating are.
