I remember landing through concecuttive trades some very good items. You looted something and that was value even if you ddnt need it. You could gather stuff and trade for other stuff and it was great. Beyond great. And you ddnt need to go to third party or anything. I literally never played JSP and i still aquired through trades both infinity and enigma and sone runes for CoTA.
Trading is also one of many that made d2 great. Please rethink please. Its a shame
It’s just , only unique and legendary are not tradeable because devs philosophy is “some items should only be earned through playing”
ancestral rare and gold being tradeable bring already enough bot spam and rmt as it is.
simply because you HAVE to slay monsters, in a monster slaying game, to get unique / legendary doesn’t mean the game is void of trading. your title is false.
especially since ancestral rare are mostly BIS (weirdly enough)
There is a trade chat, and there is a trade windows , therefor there is trading in game…otherwise third party or not there wouldn’t be any possibility of trading.
that being said, yes a better UI or even AH for the “traderers” wouldn’t be bad to avoid the use of discord or other third party sites (as long as unique / legendary stay untradeable)
Predecessor ? they weren’t tradeable in D3 : except for a few mins to a party member that was there during the drop.
if you meant the pre-predecessor : in D2R they were but it became a bot wasteland and RMT paradise 5 day after release due to that…
eitherway the predecessor, D3 didn’t had a bad thing in my opinion : you could give item to your pal and most of the time RMTing an item wasn’t doable since bound outside of your party member.
while keeping the essense of an aarpg : farming to get your own gear.
i meant D2R.
regular D2 LOD became a bot wasteland after a few months , when jsp started at first selling bot program then selling fgs.
result being the same, it’s just that D2R became that a few days after release.
eitherway that’s my opinion and you have your own of course no biggie
Trading Rare items for gold and buying items for gold for alts has been going quite well and is thriving in the Blizzard Partnered Chaos Sanctuary discord. Several Blizzard representatives are in the discord to include PezRadar / Sebastien G / Malerick.
Hopefully, they see how much of a good thing this is for the community and the d4 economy and decide to capitalize further on this by opening up trading even more. Lift the trading restrictions on aspects, legendary & Unique items.
Additionally, they need to leave the gold cost of in-game activities as it is. Reroll/enchant cost, respect costs. All need to remain the same, do not lower or nerf them. This is the only currency driving and keeping the market going at the moment until you can implement something further later. We should actually increase the gold costs of upgrading items. As gold is already losing its value as it is an easily obtainable currency and will continue to diminish in value.
Would love for Blizzard to take something from how trading is going in the Sanctuary discord and create their own platform for us to trade in-game across all of the servers. NOT an AH perse but some form of a platform / ui where we can actively chat and bid on items. Maybe a modified AH is the answer or some sort of in-game forum UI.
There is a big difference when a game has some form of trading but only via third party apps and webs and when a game actively supports an economy that is based on equal value or value trading. We also have relevant currency. It should be supported ingame
i’am merely disagreeing with you in term of legendary / unique “tradeability”
for the UI itself i fully support your opinion, sure trade channel etc… exist ,im not a trader but it’s lacking aspect make some players use more actively third party website or programs to trade than they would if the game had a gold AH or something.
Has not been real trading in d2 for decades. It is forum gold and RMT now. Even if you trying to play legit and trade you trading with a botting cheater.
But yeah you can not avoid it. Make a game with NO trading at all it is still p2W. Look at Destiny 2 no trading yet for 5-10 bucks you can get someone to run your trials for you,
Not sure why you think there is no trading in d4 though. Most items most builds wear are totally tradable but do not even bother because the game so boring already do not need to take away what little item hunt we have.
From my experience in d2 and d2r i managed to get gg items inly via ingame trading. Joining trading games or making them myself.
I got my first ever infinity in d2r only from me farming then going into trade games. Sold both runes and items till i could afford an infinity. It happened within a month.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with FG. Some people, like me, very much enjoyed accomulating a lot of it over the years… that was the whole fun for me.
If i’d wanted i have probably enough for next 20 D4 seasons to buy myself a boost and BIS gear within a couple of weeks after season start.
