No Trading = Dead Game

What content can you not do without trading? Spending any time in this game trading is the dumbest thing I have read.

It might be better to divide all items into trades and non-trade in the game mode
i play in no trade mode

it’s not about content that you can’t do w/o trading. But majority of ARPG fans enjoy trading(excluding D3 fans). They just like gaining wealth and etc. feelings, besides that with open-trading your drops become more valuable.

Idk what prevents them from making 2 leagues with open-trading and SSF based, honestly it’s gold standart now.
You don’t want to trade - play SSf type, you want to trade play open-trading
Everyone will be happy and etc. Well, it is what it is, what should we expect from half-baked product?

The trade Goblins are at it again. We know what is really going on here no matter how you try and word it. And at this point you are getting sore fingers from typing all this trade propaganda for no reason.

This is a really interesting and cool idea. Have the legendaries/uniques become account-bound after ONE trade.

Trade is a very difficult thing to talk about because there is a ton of nuance that most players don’t bother thinking about, such as how a trade system forces certain decisions on the development of the game that account-bound items does not.

But there are 3 Diablo 4-specific points that MUST be in every thread regarding trade:

  1. Trade DOES exist. You can literally trade anything, except uniques and legendaries. The question then becomes in a thread like this: where does the “no trade” comment come from? Is your problem with the inability to trade uniques, or with the trade infrastructure itself? When you say trade doesn’t exist in a game that clearly DOES have trade, it completely nullifies the whole thread.

  2. Smart loot: this is a BIG ONE. Basically, with the loot system introduced in D3 ROS and continued in D4: if an item drops that is worth trading, its also likely worth using immediately on your current character. If it isn’t, there basically isn’t a need to trade it because you would NEVER be able to trade for something better than what you currently have. Trade would only exist to gear a secondary character (and this ALREADY exists…).

  3. Account-bound items are super important to the longevity of the game. There was a video with an old Blizzard North developer (can’t remember who) that explained this really well. Without some account-bound items, the trade system can easily pigeonhole any future development of the game and lead to an inevitable dumbing down of any kind of battle system. When you can get any item through trade, it makes finding loot and character planning/variation suffer because everything you could possibly need becomes immediately and always available. There would be no point to having “rare” drops in the long run.

I’m not talking about RMAH, I’m talking about an in-game auction house or similar using in-game gold and / or item trades. I’m not sure where the issue is in relation to this, apart from just being contrary for the sake of it

And like I said, they can split it into leagues with and without trade so you don’t even need to see it if you don’t want it - and like other game who split ssf and trade leagues, you can enjoy playing with the other 5% of players who don’t like trade

Trading is the heart and soul of any ARPG.

I can’t even give Legendaries to my friends, even if it dropped when we were grouped!! Hilariously inept. A total and utter embarrassment.

This.

And guys, Diablo IV is an ARPG which wants to be an MMO.
You can’t deny the MMO aspects, though they are implemented very bad.

No trading is a good thing. Jsp is cancer and needs to stay away from d4.

I did not say anything about RMT. But since you did you just proved my point.

What point? With people like you around, we wouldn’t have developed telephones and automobiles because ‘they ruin the experience of the horse and cart’ lol

But this game is not the real world, It’s a fantasy world, A place to escape the real world. Please don’t bring the real world into my fantasy game world.

This smells like buying NFTs.

Don’t agree with you. I don’t want trading without restriction. It will only make the butter of parrallel black market and gold selling SB. So clearly, no thx. For know it is easy to stuff our touns in couple hours, no need to add more trade options.

And plz, stop pretending your opinion is shared with a large majority of players. It is not. This kind of chip retorical trick is not working for most people.

no it is. You can judge it by other ARPGS with 2 leagues SSF and with open trading.

Only 5-10% of folks playing SSF league at most. It’s unpopular and for minority.

Don’t judge ARPGs by D3, D3 fanboys are minority of ARPG fanbase.

Well actually it’s even hard to consider D3 fanboy as an ARPG fan cuz of Call of duty rifts, loot pinata, soul bound system and etc etc.

WTF??? Where do u guys come from ??? MMO this, ARPG this or maybe MMOARPG this, IT DOESNT MATTER the base mechanics and foundations that make any of these genres great are the same. Its all about loot, builds, fighting monsters and what ROLE do u want to PLAY in this GAME and not what “tag” u stick to the label

Actually yes and this is a huge thing. And somehow not everyone even who wants open trading in d4 understands this.

If you want healthy trading in D4 - smart loot should be disabled. This is another one argument for different leagues type.

Trading is annoying, I never liked it in any game, hope it’s never big here. I’m having fun with season 1, if you’re not play something else. It’s easy

How can no trading be a good thing when soo many players think differently and soo many dont want to play the game for more than 2 weeks because of this and the poor itemization?? Do u even know why d2jsp had huge success in D2 ?? Let me tell u why, its all because blizzard never made it easy to trade in D2. No official easy to use tradesite and no easy ingame options for trading thats why people had to find another solution and blizzard never did anything to stop it cause it was legal accordingly to their own terms . Take PoE as an example, this game has a very good official tradesite and a very easy to use ingame system that allows u to list items for sale directly from ur own stash without even going to the website. This means that u can keep playing untill someone whispers u for the item and then u basically just invite them to join ur game and trade the item. 10 sec and the deal is done without even having to go to the website. Thats why u see very few if any using third party websites in PoE, besides GGG actually bans people for RMT. There is no excuse for not having trade except blizzard being lazy and greedy
