As of about 2 weeks ago I lost my sound for Diablo 4. I still had sound with my headphones. Then eventually lost that sound. I have re installed the game. Updated my sound drivers…and Video drivers. Went on several forums…did all that was suggested. Ingame sound settings and PC sound settings. Diablo 4 is the only game I have no sound all other games are fine. I created a ticket…was given very basic suggestions. Then was told if you can believe it to go to the forums and try there OMG. So here I am. I have DX Diag if any are interested in looking at it.
You are not alone.
There have been a few players with no sounds, and many (including me) that lost the music only.
I think they broke something with the latest series of patches. I’m hoping they fix it soon.
Right now, the only thing that people have done is:
- Re-launch the game till the sound returns.
- Do a scan/repair of the game files.
- Restart the system.
- Check for either newer or manufacturer updated drivers for the sound card. Many systems are integrated into the mainboard/motherboard and the drivers are made available by the manufacturer of that board.
I did a scan repair…restarted the system several times…played around with the ingame sound and updated drivers and re installed game. Something is messed up for sure but I am convinced that it is the game…and not my system. Love to be proven wrong trust me.
Not trying to prove anything.
We know there are some issues with the game and the sound problems have been a recent development. So obviously not your system.
But we check these things to make sure it isn’t something we can fix/work around.
One more suggestion:
Exit the game and the battlenet launcher.
Go to the…
Documents\Diablo IV\
Folder. In here look for LocalPrefs. Rename this file, this will reset the game setting options to forced defaults. Then the next time you launch the game, you will go through first time configuration again. (you will not lose characters or items)
That may fix it, as it resets all the graphic and configuration options by forcing the game to create a new file.
I did as you said and it did reset everything and played the beginning intro video still no sound. I was hoping.
Well bugger.
I will keep an eye on it, will post here if I learn anything else.
Thanks for trying I do appreciate it.
They just had a patch come down.
My music is working again now. Interesting.
