No sound devices detected

Currently unable to get D4 to detect any output devices for in-game sound. It will however detect my G733 headset for in-game chat. My sound drivers are up-to-date and currently working on all other software.

Confirmed workaround (by myself and multiple Reddit forums users). (To be clear, this surprised most posters that it actually worked - myself included).

  1. Right click the audio icon in the taskbar
  2. Click Open Sound settings
  3. Click Manage sound devices
  4. From the Output Devices list click your output device
  5. Click Disable
  6. From the Disabled list click your output device
  7. Click Enable
  8. Click back to D4… sound magically starts as soon as you click back.

Nope. Didn’t work for me. Rebooting did, but after playing successfully, it is now not working the next time I tried.

Confirmed this work around worked for me.

Are you running on an Asus motherboard and/or do you have Asus Sonic Studio installed?

Confirmed for me. I am using a Senheisser external sound card, but had Asus Sonic Studio 3 installed. I had to unplug and replug my device every time I started, but after uninstalling Sonic Studio, it works fine. Would be nice if Bliz could look in to this issue for anyone that is still using their built in sound card.

Brilliant! Glad to hear that sorted the problem for you.

Confirmed, also worked for me on Asus ROG Strix laptop, uninstalled Sonic Studio and Sonic Radar. Thank you!

Hi I tried disable output device and enable and works but only one time. Second time is not working. I need to do it always disable and enable.
Can somebody help why. My laptop is Lenovo Legion 7

Sonic Studio uninstall worked for me as well. So glad that this extra crapware is being invested in. Can you just save me 50 cents on the motherboard next time? Actually, I’ll pay 5 dollars more to not have to deal with it.

Here’s one for you Blizzard - I also have a Lenovo Legion T7 desktop - that does not have the Sonic Audio. I have the same “no sound” issue every launch, for 6 months now. I have Nahmic Audio - and have tried to uninstall that to no resolution.

The kicker is I also have a Lenovo Legion S7 AMD Advantage edition laptop - also with Nahimic Audio - that does not and has never had any “no audio” issues.

Also will add that no other “Blizzard” or otherwise game has this issue. What is going on?
