I like the game for the most part. I’m not a fan of the seasonal gameplay, but I can get around it. What I’m having a hard time ignoring is the social aspect of the game…or lack of a social aspect. I’m a mostly MMO player. This game was advertised as being MMO-lite. The lite aspect should at least include the type of social activity we see in MMOs…at the very least a simple global chat.
Also, I’m in a guild. I know that I am. However, I couldn’t tell you who is online, what they are doing, when the last one was online…nor do I have a reason to care. I’ve maybe hit the guild hotkey to bring up the interface a couple of times at best. There are no guild specific activities in game for me to actually care. No guild progression. There should be something to do that is guild specific with your clan mates. Yes they can join you in a dungeon run or you can them…but I’m talking about guild progression that gives guild perks. Perks like bonus to xp…bonus to rare mats, bonus to gold, world bosses that only spawn for your guild once it’s reached a certain guild level. I mean there are lots of different types of activities that could be for guilds and actually give you a reason to be in a guild.
These are just somethings that if implemented would go a long way for a lot of people Plenty of gamers stick with games, even if its not where it needs to be, or the devs are working at a snail’s pace, just to be online gaming with their clanmates.

I was going to invite you to our Clan but it sounds like you’re already in one.
Have a chat with the Clan and set yourselves some Clan specific objectives?
Thank you. I may still take you up on that if it’s available. What type of clan specific objectives do you guys implement. I appreciate that you do that for your clan. My hope is that Blizz decides to implement things for clans to do that is official…so that we can see they value clans and the folks that take the time to form them.
If I’m honest, sadly I feel it would not meet your needs.
It was set up by a friend and is composed of a few people I know who play the game casually.
I should have gone on to say that I do understand what you’re asking for and think it’s an excellent idea.
In Destiny there are weekly Clan Goals to work towards and you receive useful rewards for achieving them. This caused me to drop out of my “casual friends” Clan in Destiny and join a formal organised one. Now I reap the benefits of participation and I’m encouraged to participate because of these rewards as well.
Something like this applied to Diablo 4 would encourage people to play. Sure, maybe you can’t have an “Ultra Unique” as a reward because then they wouldn’t be “Ultra Unique” anymore… but you could certainly have a “Clan Cache” reward that spat a bit of meaningful gear? Also additional ways of seeing how you’re faring compared to other Clans.
If they did that I’d probably swap to a dedicated Clan and encourage my buddies to join me.
However like you correctly point out… that’s not really here now is it?
It’s a missed opportunity for the Developers to increase engagement with their product and for the Players to enjoy themselves in the game.
