No Plans for Overlay Map in Diablo IV

I dont mind, i didnt have any problems playing the game without an overlay map.

Overlay was more important when the layout was randomized. People will learn the maps over time and the number of people asking for it will reduce dramatically.

Unpopular opinion but I hate the overlay map in previous games.

HOWEVER, it was a terrible decision to remove it, given that it is a widely enjoyed staple of aRPG games.

Kinda surprised with how easy of an addition it would be

When I had the minimap overlay turned on, I had a hard time making out both the minimap and the world.

What are the devs thinking? Some seriously clueless decisions they’re making w/ this game for no reason other than to cater to new & casual players.

This is where I was at with it. Never missed it in the beta.

I got tired of the overlay being so hard to see depending on what area I’m in I just started using mini maps for all ARPGs. Works fine for me. But they should have the option.

I missed it at first, but as beta went on I ended up not really needing or wanting it anymore. I think I grew too used to it from D3.

I didnt miss an overlay. They are usually just annoying.
Though I guess having it as an option would be fine.

Maybe it is just me, but I just look at the screen and if something seems confusing, I glance at the mini map. Seems to be good enough. If I need a bigger map, I just open the actual map.

I played D2 also and get that some like the overlay though.

“No plans AT THE MOMENT”

That can give us little bit of hope.
TBH i loved the overlay map in D2 and im really used to it.

Now, permanently needing to TAB to check if Im going the right way and where am ai going is annoying.

The map pin that sets a path to it on your mini map was super handy.

Yeah but what if you just wander around? Explore the map? I dont like using the pin.

Its like… wow quests. Maps show you where to go, when to go, etc.

I kind of miss the exploratory on part, the unknown.

Sorry neh, its not a disaster is it?

Then easy dont use the ping system. Nit hard to understand.

they already have a minimap, so i don’t think going from there and making it a transparent overlay would be some monumental development step to take.

and putting in the option is not hurting anyone, if you dont like it, just dont activate it.
but some are missing it and options are always a plus.

Yeah.
Thata why I would like to have the overlay.
To know where I was and where not.
Where is a cave entrance.
Etc.
