No monsters to finish the final pit run to get the Red Portal. Meh. Waste my time.
Get back to previous level and kill what you left behind.

Just how fast did you blitz through to the next portal? I feel like you must’ve left a lot behind.

Did you run out of monsters, or hit a dead end and didn’t go back?
Same thing happened to me. I went through first area portal into second area, my progress bar was completed but the 2nd zone had zero monsters. I went back to starting area to check for monsters and none there either so I had to abandon. Please fix this so we aren’t wasting shards.
Run out, ran along all the edges in case I missed an opening, nope, just no mobs.
I’ve ran probably 200-300 pits so far and this has never happened once lol. You must be pretty unlucky

No one runs out mobs. Its not luck, these ppl mismanaged their pit and need better progression management.
Had this happen a few days ago. Was lucky there was a few monsters I missed in the first section that were just enough to trigger the boss portal.
on the ptr u could. they tempered with the max amount of mobs, and sometimes even backtracking isnt enough, probably some mobs behind walls too.
Often times there’s a branch full of elites and we’ll never know if we just cruise along one side of the wall, asking me to fully explore a map is just stupid in a timed fight.
Why can’t they just make it infinite levels anyways?

Had a similar experience. Went searching through the hallways and found a foe left behind. The boss portal opened once I killed him and I believe this happened even though the bar was not completely filled yet.
Yes they did but D3 players could manage it properly especially from elite zBarb backgrounds.
No, I went back to scour everything, along walls, middle, center, definitely NOT there.
Don’t worry. People don’t know what they’re talking about. I only had 2 portals in my pit run just now, zero mobs left, waste of time. Then there’s other pits where I can kill enough mobs on the first level.
Have had that happen before. I killed everything still missing time to get the portal to open. Its a bug. Lately the faster i get that bar up it opens a portal even when not completely full (about 90%) so probably realizing i can go “cleanup” but it would rather just open it for me. WIN

this shows it clearly that people dont know what they are talking about, as you always have only 2 portals in a pit run.

I mean technically its just one portal. But whatever. I usually just play 2 weeks per season, so I don’t admit that I know everything. What I do know is you can get a pit that doesn’t have enough enemies. The one time I had it happen, and another time where I missed a mob but barely still had enough, was the jail/catacomb layout.

i mean i wont say that this can never happen, i just personally never had that happen myself. The few times i was short on mobs i pretty much knew which areas i foolishly skipped.
