Just a quick headsup to everyone bragging about minion build being viable, saying “i’m in wt2 or wt3 and i do decently” please be quiet and grow a braincell or 2, a build being viable on wt1-3 makes no difference, if it cant keep up with other classes/builds in wt-4… ITS NOT VIABLE, i have seen 0 and i mean 0 minion builds that work on wt4. and here is all the reasons minions suck… currently
1-Bad ai.
2-Extreme lack of minion damage(It’s actually laughable)
3- affected by fear
4-supressor
5-certain nodes in paragon board dont work

The problem with that is that it’s not dependant on minion damage, again not a summoner build-
thats a bone spear build that uses minions… thats not an actual minion build. your bone spear does more damage than all your minions together

i mean i can record myself playing w/out bonespear whatsoever because honestly im more concerned with keeping my cc everywhere and curses on things to reset AoTD, bonespear is a dump when i have nothing else to do but yes, it is the one skill i have that i can actively destroy clutter. again believe what you want 
How is this not a minion build? Bone spear really only is there to apply vulnerable and that’s really just it.
He’s using Cult Leader, Deadraiser glyph, Mage glyph, all of the minion aspects… What else do people want for a minion build?

the issue is that even if you use bone spear for vuln it still ends up doing more damage than your minions

No, that is literally just what you think.
Skeletal Mages in that build will easily hit in the hundred of thousands against vulnerable targets. Bone spear isn’t going to do much when so many points are spent on the cult leader board.

Minion builds are not competitive at the highest level from what I’ve seen. Even in base WT4 they are pretty rough to play. I can’t even imagine them in a nightmare 40+ dungeon…also most classes are able to clear nightmare 40 dungeons with ease. Barbs are pushing 60+ already in nightmare dungeons.
Necro I believe is just kind of forced into this bonespear/bone spirit build to compete with these top tier classes and even then bonespear/bone spirit is 1000x tougher to play than some of these other faceroll Barb or Druid pulv builds.

Does cult leader work for you?
I heard it was bugged
They’re undertuned but they are harder to balance than people think. There is this hyper thin line between “minions are doing too little” and "minions are too strong and the necro never gets hit or presses buttons while the minions just solo all the hardest content.
I have yet to hear a compelling reason why they shouldn’t be able to do all the heavy lifting while you run support if you invest into them.

Because when they are so strong that they both A. Dont ever die and B. Can solo the damage, you have a class that can farm while afk which is horrible design.

I keep hearing this argument and it continues to fail to convince since other ARPGS manage to make minion-focused builds work just fine and feel balanced and powerful and nobody seems to care.
