Giving the game/us fans leaderboards mean more work for D4 devs.
Changes (*ahem, bugs and errors) in every patch and hotfix have lead to many errors, mistakes or unexpected unintended interactions - e.g. double dipping, Victimize Key Passive Rogue. If LBs are implemented, … the ‘we are listening to you’ will vanished.
D4 Blizzard Model … less work, more revenue. Hence the lack of basic UIs and features … due to the frequent bugs. Leaderboards (coughs*, competitive) will penalize Devs’ work-life balance. Delays, slow-paced fixes are preferred.

I skipped S1, 2, and 3 played the heck out of this season and now am back to same conclusion i was one year ago which is to wait one more year. I believe this game was launched in alpha and has now arrived at beta with season 4. Perhaps in one more year or season 8 will bring a game ready for primetime.
I think the designer’s of the game decided they wanted to have d4 be a console first game, not a PC game. SO that then drive’s a lot of the decisions we see in the game. Just basic searching, inventory management, etc. are not available. Why? It’s a console game, not a PC game.
Simple UI things that should be in this game…
Search for nodes in the skill and paragon tree’s
Displaying how many total skill or paragon points are used/allocated/etc
Search the overall map for a location (dungeon/town/etc)
Search tempering recipes
Character inventory searching
Countdown timers on any buffs/debuffs
Stat/Material searching
Game play change:
Reduce the overall RNG for endgame… So many threads about this… It is ridiculous to brick a GA item because one of N different RNG systems end up bricking the item…
