The game will constantly crash, followed by an error that states “No GPU Found!” This can happen as soon as the character selection screen, or after an hour or so of playtime, and at any time in between. Most crashes happen within 30 minutes. I can’t narrow down a cause of the crash; it seems random.
I have tried:
- Scan and repair
- Uninstall/reinstall D4
- Rolling back GPU drivers
- Using the most up-to-date GPU drivers
System:
- Win 11 64-bit (10.0, Build 26200)
- AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D
- 32 GB RAM
- AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
- ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming WiFi II
- 1000W PSU
At this point, playing the game is not possible for any length of time.
This is the only game i I own that has produced this error.
When you load Diablo 4 (before you enter the game), there’s a menu at the top. If you select Game, do you see your Graphics Card listed there next to Adapter?
-
Go to Documents\Diablo IV.
-
Open the file LocalPrefs.txt in Notepad.
-
Find the line that says Adapter "0".
-
Change the value to Adapter "1" (or vice versa) to force the game execution engine to bind exclusively to your primary graphics hardware card. Save and exit.
-
Open the AMD Adrenalin Software and go to Performance > Tuning.
-
Switch Tuning Control to Custom and enable Advanced Control under GPU Tuning.
-
Lower your Max Frequency (%) down to roughly 90% or 95% (a safe max limit around 2400–2500 MHz).
-
Why this helps: This locks down aggressive voltage spikes, preventing the driver from failing and triggering the “No GPU found” recovery prompt.
It seems to be working as of now. The card was correct, and I haven’t needed to adjust AMD performance. Must’ve been fixed in a patch
