NMD = masterworking mats, The Pit = leveling glyphs, Infernal Hordes = gear loots

after a few days experiencing the ptr, i am clear that diablo 4 has finally found its direction.

the season 6 ptr focuses on making nightmare dungeon missions more relevant. previously, players only aimed to reach the final boss for upgrading glyphs xp, ignoring side missions and monsters. (i mentioned before that saving that 3 dudes in the NMD side mission gets rewarded by 2 rare gears after waves of elite monster, dunno which joker designed it)

now, nightmare dungeon missions provide crafting materials thus encouraging exploration. players are potentially hunt down every elites there because the obducite and gems drop is very lucrative, thats the genuine feeling for a rpg venturing into the dungeons!

then we have the pit that offers glyph xp based on tier difficulty, its becoming totally relevant as players want to level up their glyphs, they just need to blast all the way down, capability directly translated into proficiency, no more nonsense.

finally, i assumed the infernal hordes mission is expected to reward players with gear drops, especially the soon becoming very rare ancestral grade.

already one year journey down the road, better late than never. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I wish the NMD still provides a teeny weeny little glyph xp for those who prefer a deterministically way of getting a glyph exp. On top of that, I kinda missed seeing that big giant bubble that says Tier 100 complete.

One thing I really like about the PTR is running the NMD with T4 feels like I am running the old NM 100s. There’s challenge (with my non LS Sorc build) unlike in S5 where I just literally zoom in everywhere.

well, from the look of it, it’s clear that the devs are going to clear out the grey area and establish three main pillars for the three major pursuits.

Surely they could have found a way of making all 3 modes relevant without making all 3 modes mandatory.
