NM 100 needs to drop more/better loot if the bosses have 150% more HP

I understand that there isn’t much end game content, but can’t the high level dungeons at least drop consistently better or more items than lower NM dungeons?

As an end reward for my NM100 dungeon today, I got the unique dagger I use… with good rolls!! …but it’s 9 item power lower than the one I got at level 64 from a normal dungeon.

Shouldn’t taking on a larger challenge result in a greater reward? And now they’re going to buff the health of all bosses, but scaled by monster level. This literally makes pushing higher NM dungeons even less efficient than it already is. Where’s the motivation?

Why would you need better loot when you destroyed NM100? You need a better gear to beat NM101?

This is obvious. Right now, the reward for pushing high tier content is nowhere near commensurate with the effort it takes. NM 100 and pinnacle level bosses should have a significantly greater chance to drop pinnacle items vs regular monsters. ARPG 101 stuff that for inexplicable reasons remains unaddressed in this game 2 months in.

It’s still fun to get upgrades, even if you’re already at the end of the content. But you highlighted another problem. There’s no reach content either.

They give us the possiblity of acquiring end game items at early level, but you’re like “I was lucky to get a dagger that’s good enough for NM100 at lvl 64, but I’m still complaining”.

What do you want? Do you want them to change Sacred/Ancestral items to also slowly scale up with monster level like normal tier items?

It’s amazing that you still haven’t realized it’s all luck when it comes to Sacred/Ancestral item power.

And doing NM100 is nothing more than earning bragging rights, it doesn’t need better loots to further funnel players into doing only high nightmares.

well as a sorc i dont have this kind of issue…ill never be able to clear nm100 anyway

Should at the very least drop only Ancestral tier items.

I literally said what I wanted. It’s in the title. They should drop more/better loot than what I was getting at level 64. Lower the loot at level 64 if that’s necessary, sure. It’s really not that complicated. The items should be better or there should be more of them if I’m doing more difficult content.

Cool assumption about what I’ve realized. That’s why i said drop consistently better. I’m well aware it’s a range of item levels. The average is very slightly higher in higher tier NM dungeons. It should be more drastic.

If the game is about improving your character by gaining gear, why would you improve your character to not do harder content? NM 100 should do exactly what you’re saying it shouldn’t. It should absolutely funnel me gear. The gameplay cycle of ARPG’s is literally to improve your character’s gear, so you can do harder content that rewards you with more or better gear.

And besides that, I’m not just saying NM100 should give better gear. It should just improve as you go higher in NM dungeons so people aren’t endlessly farming brainless low level monsters like they are

How often do you do NM100 that you want to talk about consistency? If NM100 can be farmed due to the nerfs and seasonal power creep, do you think it’s still worthy of receiving better loots upon completion? Maybe you do, but I don’t.

Diablo series has never been about doing the absolutely hardest contents for the best loots except things like Hellfire Torch only drops off Ubers. You can get loots wherever the monster level is high enough.

I’ve done about 50 of them if I had to guess. I haven’t gotten an upgrade nor a sellable item. The reason I’m able to farm them is because of the time I’ve put in. There should be a payoff for the time invested. Just because they aren’t that difficult for me now doesn’t mean it’s undeserved.

Let’s agree to disagree considering a lot of builds are carried by the Barber heart.

I mean, I’m actually curious of your thoughts then. You think it’s good to get the same quality rewards from clearing a NM 50, where you can close your eyes or watch a movie on your 2nd monitor, as you do from a NM 100 where you have to 1. have well optimized gear from spending many hours playing and 2. actually pay attention to monster abilities and NM mechanics?

And once you hit max level, you just push for NM 100 once, then quit? Is that the plan?

My thought is that we should have multiple ways to acquire loots. I don’t like the idea of one single option is significantly better than others.

I played closed endgame beta, and I liked there were many things to do in the overworld for adequate rewards.

Now it’s nightmare dungeons after nightmare dungeons because they made the overworld and normal dungeons worthless outside Helltides.

I completely agree. NM dungeons aren’t that fun to run endlessly. I wish there were more sources for loot. But regardless of the source, I think that more difficult content or time gated content should provide better loot than easy farmable content.

Hey white night, you really think gear dropping at Lv64 being better then gear that drops at Lv150 is good game design? Lmao you’ll defend a pile of turds

anyways, enjoyed the discussion. Maybe I’m the minority, maybe not. Don’t feed the trolls

Yes, me too and I’m not gonna waste my time on that guy.

Pretty much all builds are carried by the barber  I have a hard time coming up with a reason to not use it on any build. The barber is the single biggest redeeming quality of season 1 imo. It’s over the top fun. My only issue with it was how it was leeching everyone elses damage around it, but they’re fixing that.

As for your opinions on NM’s, well, harder content should give better rewards. That’s just RPG 101. You shouldn’t be finding good loot on trash mobs outside of the dungeon entrance.

It sounds to me like you are saying there just needs to be more harder content types, and maybe some of that should occur in the outdoor areas.

Someone above me already told you

Diablo series loot is mostly RNG based not difficulty based

Diablo 2
You can get a ber from literally any monster in hell …
You can drop any item in tc85 zones regardless of diffuculty of the area

Diablo 3
Number of items you get is capped at GR 90
And the qualitu of them items dont increase if you clear GR 150

Why should it change now ?

you were lucky to get a great unique at lvl 64

I don’t know, maybe explore the potential of your class min-maxed? different build? why do you play this game if you don’t care about these things lol
