Hmm. This season, I swear the same amount as I did last season when I use my horse, so I have not noticed this.
-Except for Helltides when the Dune worms knock me off of my horse when they pop so there is a longer time to waste before I can remount. Other than that, they are the same level of stupid they have been since they last improved them a bit.
Guess I’ll try to pay more attention.
The spur time is way shorter than before. It’s friggin awful.
That one stands out, but the smaller, less obvious obstructions that were addressed in the first horse “pathing” fix a few months ago, I noticed were slightly worse in S3, and either haven’t improved or have gotten slightly worse in S4. They’ve often been referred to as invisible walls, even though they generally don’t completely block access. They behave like one when the horse first bumps into them. (Plus, there are apparently workarounds for the “big” ones that let you bypass them sometimes.)
One does not follow from the other, as with most things in life. It’s a generalization fallacy. The best data is in aggregate.
My impression (real or imagined) about S3 & S4 vs S2 was about clunkiness, not boost duration. My impression (real or imagined) about boost nerf was about S4 vs S3. Still feeling things out on that one, it wasn’t a strong impression anyway.
The boost is definitely worse than it was last season. I don’t think it’s the duration per se, but I feel like I’m going slower than I was, even with a double boost. And I can’t gallop for as long as I used to before running out of charges, though that might actually be because it’s taking me longer to get to the places I’m used to traveling to (legions and WB) so the charges don’t last long enough anymore.
Yeah man, S2 horses was the stuff, I really miss it. I was hoping they would keep em that way but yeah NAAAAH!
It’s either a 1.04 bug or they ninja-nerfed it. It was fine before the patch.
Extra points for getting dismounted if a mob even so much as breathes in your horse’s general direction.
Edit: Y’know, I was going to post the picture of two Spider-Men pointing at each other, but evidently I can’t do so anymore.

Not a developer but I think Blizzard uses that dev process where fixes and change in one build that goes live can be missed in the next build because they have multiple builds in various stages of development. It’s bush league but par for the course.
I definitely feel the much worse horse pathing as well, not even around mobs, just getting stuck on rocks in the environment.
If devs are not forking from a single master branch, they all need to be fired. They’re worse than interns.
We need the g.o.a.t. mount from Elden Ring. Stat!
